šµ Vibriaās Underground āEarth Houseā Project in the Desert
Vibria, our desert dog, has officially escalated her digging project into what weāre now calling an underground earth house construction site š¶šļø
What started as playful digging has turned into a full-scale burrow-style project.
š¶ What Is Vibria Doing?
Weāve noticed:
Constant digging in the same area
Expanding tunnels
Deepening burrow structure
Strong āconstruction-levelā behavior
Is she just digging⦠or building something?
šļø The āEarth Houseā Theory
Vibriaās Underground Earth House Project
It includes:
Multiple digging zones
Expanding tunnel direction
Strategic dirt relocation (yes, she moves it intentionally)
š AI Sneak Peek (Funny Version)
To add a little humor to Vibriaās āearth houseā theory, we used AI to imagine what her finished underground home might look likeā¦
The result was surprisingly simple ā and honestly kind of perfect š
The AI showed:
A small underground living room
A worn-out couch
A single lamp glowing softly
An old TV sitting in the corner
No fancy mansion. No luxury burrow.
Just a very āminimalist desert dog lifestyleā setup⦠which somehow feels exactly like Vibria would approve of š¶šļø

Late-Night Trespassers at Ka-Hoon Campground⦠and Other Desert Drama**
Most nights at **Plateau Hame De Colquhoun** are peacefulāthe kind of quiet that makes you forget the rest of the world exists. Just desert skies, soft winds, and the occasional animatronic warming up for **Music in the Desert**.
Then there are nights like last night. The nights where the desert decides to host its own reality show.
We caught **two trespassers** on camera. Neither had permission. Neither respected the āNo Trespassingā signs. Neither cared even a little.
—
## **Trespasser #1**
* Height: about a foot * Long ears: satellite-level reception * Movement: Olympic-level hopping * Attitude: high
It was, without a doubt, a **jack rabbit** on a mission.
This fuzzy renegade zipped across **Ka-Hoon Campground** like it was late for rehearsal with **Advocatus Diaboli** and the **Grim Leafer Band**. It didnāt pause, didnāt wave, and definitely didnāt stop by the **Dusty Nail General Store** to contribute to the local economy.
Truly a rebellious spirit.
—
## **Trespasser #2**
* Height: 2ā3 feet on all fours * Tail: maximum fluff * Eyes: full ātry meā * Species: **Coyote**, desert troublemaker extraordinaire
This one walked past the camera like it owned the whole **Ka-Hoon Event Center**. It stopped just long enough to stare directly into the lens with the expression of:
> āI walk where I want. Donāt interrupt my schedule.ā
Coyotes donāt break rules. They ignore the concept of rules entirely.
—
## **If Seen⦠Please Invite Them to Offgrid Talk**
We arenāt trying to track them down. Weād just like to politely inform them:
**Offgrid Talk starts at 8 a.m. MST on TikTok. All desert residents welcome.**
They already:
* Live off-grid * Ignore boundaries * Wander freely across **Plateau Hame De Colquhoun** * And act like they’re long-term members of our **Membership program**
Might as well give them a voice.
—
## **Meanwhile⦠the Bulls Returned (Because of Course They Did)**
Just when we thought the night couldnāt get louder, the **free-range bulls** rolled in like they were scheduled entertainment.
They proceeded to:
* Holler * Buller * Wrestle * Slam into each other * And perform a full-contact dance battle
All. Night. Long.
At one point, it sounded like two dump trucks arguing over a parking spot. Even the coyote paused and went, āBro⦠chill.ā
If you think desert living is quiet, you have never lived next to free-range bulls with personal problems.
—
## **Desert Life Keeps Us Laughing**
Between the wildlife, the weirdness, and the 3 a.m. bull brawls, life at **Ka-Hoon Campground** is anything but boring.
Add in:
* the odd and unusual bands booked through **Melodieās Oddities** * the clean audio and reliable sound work from **Jafo Productions** (the unsung heroes behind many shows) * the off-grid entertainment through **Colquhoun Entertainment** * the animatronics of **Advocatus Diaboli** and the **Grim Leafer Band** * and a few overly confident tumbleweedsā¦
And youāve got a place where every day writes its own story.
We live off-grid, we laugh a lot, and we take the chaos in stride. Wildlife, music, communityāitās all part of what makes this place special.
If you see the rabbit, the coyote, or the bulls⦠Tell them Offgrid Talk starts at 8 a.m. Weāll save them a spot and hope they bring good stories.

**Moonlit Desert Magic at Ka-Hoon Campground: When Sand Looks Like Snow**
Last night, I stepped outside expecting the quiet desert darkness⦠but instead, it looked like we had gotten a dusting of snow. The ground had a soft, white glow to itālike winter had somehow crept into the New Mexico desert.
But it wasnāt snow at all. It was the **moonlight hitting the sand**, turning the desert floor into a pale, shimmering landscape. It was one of those off-grid moments where nature plays tricks on you in the best way.
Out here at **Ka-Hoon Campground**, every dayāand every nightābrings something unexpected. The desert has its own personality, its own humor, and its own beauty that shows up when you least expect it.
**Comment below:** Would YOU have thought it was snow if you stepped out and saw the desert glowing white in the moonlight?
**Off-Grid Life at Ka-Hoon Campground: Dust Devils, Dogs, and Desert Adventures**
Life at **Ka-Hoon Campground** is always full of surprises. Today, Dreugan delivered his dramatic deep-narrator update: *āWelcome back to the desert, where Mom says everything is peacefulābut I just watched the solar system try to fight a dust devil.ā*
Meanwhile, little Vibriaāfearless as everāmade things even more interesting by trying to eat the dust devil. Out here, even the weather becomes part of the adventure.
Living off-grid isnāt just peaceful; itās unpredictable, hilarious, and full of personality. Every day brings new stories, new challenges, and new moments worth sharing.
If you love off-grid life, desert vibes, cute pets, and a little chaos, Ka-Hoon Campground is the place to be.

Letās gather under the stars, honor change, and celebrate new beginnings together.
While heading into town, we caught a couple of guys trying to dump some old furniture out in the desert. Living off-grid means respecting the land that gives us peace ā and littering isnāt part of that! After a āfriendly chat,ā they picked it all back up. Itās moments like these that remind us why community and respect for nature matter. Here at Ka-Hoon Campground, we take pride in keeping our desert clean, peaceful, and full of life.
Life off-grid at Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center isnāt just about humans enjoying the desertāitās also home to our furry family! Vibria, Dreugan, and Lurch love to play together safely inside their pen after a long day of guarding the homestead. We keep our dogs in a secured area for their safety and to respect the campground rulesāno loose pets for everyoneās comfort and protection. Even so, that doesnāt stop the fun! Watch as they chase, tumble, and show off their desert joy from their play space here at Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center.
Caught on Camera: Our First Months Off-Grid and an Unexpected Visitor!
When we first moved to the desert, every day was a new challenge ā and a lesson in staying prepared. During our early months at **Plateau Hame de Colquhoun (Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center)**, we installed a security camera before heading into town, knowing that trips werenāt quick and our belongings were left vulnerable.
Not long after, that camera paid off. We caught a visitor on video trying to walk off with something that didnāt belong to them! Thankfully, we had chained the axles of our trailer, and it was empty at the time ā that same trailer later became what we now call **The Hut**, our compost toilet.
It was one of those off-grid moments that reminds you why preparation matters. Every experience ā even the tough ones ā helped shape who we are today.
Now, as we celebrate **five years off-grid**, we invite you to join us for our **5th Anniversary Open Mic Night** on **Saturday, October 18th**. Come in person, stay for a night or a weekend, or tune in live from home on our **Colquhoun Entertainment TikTok** profile.
Life off-grid isnāt always easy ā but every story, every lesson, and every bit of resilience makes it worth it.
