Fox Caught on Camera During Music in the Desert Show in New Mexico

🦊 Fox Caught on Camera During Music in the Desert

Sometimes you never know who might show up for Music in the Desert β€” and this time, we had an unexpected four-legged guest!

While we were up in the Music Studio filming our Music in the Desert show at Ka-Hoon in the New Mexico desert, a wild fox was caught on camera wandering around the property.

And now we have an important question…

Did this fox actually book a campsite to watch Music in the Desert, or was he sneaking in to catch the show for free? πŸ˜‚πŸ¦Š

🦊 An Unexpected Music in the Desert Guest

The Music in the Desert show is all about live music, entertainment, and the unique experience of enjoying a show from the middle of the New Mexico desert.

But apparently, humans aren’t the only ones interested in the entertainment!

While the cameras were rolling inside the Music Studio, this fox decided to make an appearance outside.

We weren’t expecting to see a wild fox become part of the night’s entertainment β€” but that’s exactly what happened.

🌡 Wildlife in the New Mexico Desert

One of the things that makes the New Mexico desert so interesting is the wildlife that shares the landscape with us.

You can be focused on a live music show one minute and suddenly discover that a wild animal has wandered into view.

This fox was a perfect example.

There was no invitation that we know of.

No reservation confirmation.

No ticket.

Just a fox casually making his way around the property while Music in the Desert was happening. 🦊

🎢 Did He Come for the Music?

Now we’re having fun imagining what actually happened.

Maybe he heard the music drifting through the desert and decided to investigate.

Maybe he smelled something interesting.

Or maybe β€” just maybe β€” he had already booked his campsite and was there specifically for Music in the Desert. πŸ˜‚

We may never know.

But we’re officially counting him as an unexpected member of the audience

πŸŽ₯ Caught on Camera

The best part is that this wasn’t something we staged or planned.

The fox was simply caught on camera while we were doing our Music in the Desert show from the Music Studio.

These are the moments that make filming and livestreaming from the desert so much fun.

You never know what might happen next.

πŸŒ™ Music, Desert Life & Unexpected Visitors

Music in the Desert isn’t just about the music.

It’s about the atmosphere, the desert setting, live entertainment, and the unexpected moments that happen when you’re doing something different.

A wild fox casually wandering through the property during a live music show definitely qualifies!

That’s one of the things we love about creating from Ka-Hoon β€” the desert has a way of becoming part of the show whether we plan for it or not.

🦊 What Do You Think?

So we’re putting the question to you:

Was this fox a legitimate campsite guest or a Music in the Desert show crasher?

Cast your vote:

  • 🦊 BOOKED GUEST β€” He came for the show!
  • 🎢 SHOW CRASHER β€” He was sneaking in for free!
  • 🌡 JUST A DESERT VISITOR β€” He had somewhere else to be!

Whatever the answer, we’re glad our cameras were rolling when this unexpected visitor stopped by.

🎡 Watch Music in the Desert

If you enjoy live music, New Mexico entertainment, desert wildlife, campground life, and unexpected moments, follow along for more Music in the Desert shows and videos from Ka-Hoon.

You never know who might show up next.

Even if they have four paws and didn’t buy a ticket. 🦊🎢🌡

Mystery Animal Caught on Camera in the New Mexico Desert: Fox, Raccoon or Badger?

Mystery Animal Caught on Camera at Ka-Hoon Campground in the New Mexico Desert

Another mysterious visitor has appeared on the security cameras at Ka-Hoon Campground & Event Center, part of Plateau Hame de Colquhoun in the New Mexico desert.

We’re trying to identify this one because, at first glance, it looks like it could be a fox β€” but the animal’s size, shape and proportions have us questioning that identification.

Could it be a large raccoon? We don’t see many raccoons out here in the desert. We do, however, have badgers in the area, making this mystery even more interesting.

So we’re asking our readers:

What do YOU think this animal is?

Caught on the Ka-Hoon Security Camera

The animal was captured moving through the property on our security system.

At first, our best guess was fox, but something about the animal’s appearance doesn’t quite seem right.

The questions we’re trying to answer:

🦊 Is it a fox?
🦝 Could it be a large raccoon?
🦑 Could we be looking at a badger?

πŸ•Maybe a dog
🐾 Is it another New Mexico desert animal entirely?

Watch the footage carefully and examine the animal’s body shape, size, legs, tail and movement before making your guess.

Fox, Raccoon or Dog?

Identifying wildlife from a security-camera recording isn’t always easy.

Distance, camera angle, nighttime lighting and movement can make an animal appear significantly different from how it would look up close.

That’s why we’re not claiming we know what this animal is.

We’re putting the mystery out to the community.

🦊 Could It Be a Fox?

Foxes can be found in New Mexico, and their body shape can make them a reasonable first guess.

But the apparent size and proportions of this animal are what make us hesitate.

🦝 Could It Be a Raccoon?

A large raccoon could potentially create some of the same visual confusion.

However, raccoons aren’t something we commonly see around our part of the New Mexico desert, which makes this possibility particularly interesting.

πŸ• Could It Be a Dog?

Dog is another possibility worth considering.

We do encounter free-ranging dog populations, including both feral groups and unattended domestic animals.

This is where we need your help.

Watch the footage and leave your best identification in the comments.

Don’t just tell us what you think it is β€” tell us why.

What did you notice?

  • Body shape?
  • Size?
  • Tail?
  • Legs?
  • Head shape?
  • Movement?
  • Walking pattern?
  • Overall proportions?

Someone familiar with New Mexico wildlife may recognize something we’re missing.

Wildlife Around Ka-Hoon Campground

One of the fascinating things about living and camping in the New Mexico desert is that you never completely know what might wander past the cameras.

Ka-Hoon Campground & Event Center is a private, off-grid campground and event space located in the New Mexico desert. The property offers camping, live music, creative events, wide-open desert surroundings and opportunities to experience the landscape away from the noise of the city.

The campground offers RV, camper, van and tent camping, with private desert campsites, open space, stargazing and access to scheduled events and music when available.

That means the security cameras sometimes capture something we weren’t expecting.
