๐ A Dragon Came Out of Our Solar Panels?! AI Fantasy Meets Off-Grid New Mexico
Sometimes life at our off-grid home in Central New Mexico gets a littleโฆ mythical. ๐ตโ๏ธ๐
We decided to turn our real solar-powered surroundings into something completely unexpected: an AI-generated fantasy video featuring a colorful dragon emerging from our solar panels, surrounded by vibrant imagery and symbols inspired by the ancient cultural landscape of New Mexico.
The result is a wild combination of New Mexico desert scenery, solar power, off-grid living, fantasy art, ancient-inspired symbols and original music.
And while the dragon isn’t real, the place that inspired it absolutely is.
๐ต AI Fantasy Inspired by Real New Mexico
Our home and creative space at Plateau Hame de Colquhoun LLC sits in Central New Mexico, where we live an off-grid lifestyle surrounded by the unique landscape and character of the Southwest.
The video combines:
๐ AI-generated dragon fantasy
โ๏ธ Real solar-powered off-grid living
๐ต New Mexico-inspired imagery
๐ฅ Colorful fantasy visuals
๐๏ธ Off-grid camping
๐ธ Original music
๐ค Live entertainment
๐บ Livestreaming and creative projects
It’s a little bit of technology, a little bit of imagination, and a whole lot of New Mexico.
โก Life Off the Grid
Solar power is a real part of our everyday life.
Instead of simply showing the practical side of solar energy, we decided to let our imagination take over. What if something ancient and mythical could emerge from the very technology that helps power our off-grid life?
That’s where the dragon came from. The colorful AI imagery turns an ordinary piece of our off-grid setup into something magical and unexpected.
๐๏ธ Ka-Hoon Campground & Event Center
Our property is also home to Ka-Hoon Campground & Event Center, an off-grid camping and event destination in Central New Mexico.
Visitors can experience a different side of New Mexico โ one that combines rural surroundings, creativity, music, camping and community.
Whether you’re interested in:
Off-grid camping
New Mexico travel
Events and entertainment

Getting away from ordinary campground life
Ka-Hoon is a place built around doing things a little differently.
Colquhoun Entertainment brings together our music, livestreams, creative projects and entertainment.
Our goal is to create an ongoing place where people can discover original music, unusual ideas, New Mexico-inspired creativity and live entertainment.
๐น Advocatus Diaboli & The Grim Leafer Band
The music featured with this video comes from Brent Calhoun โ Advocatus Diaboli.
Brent is the vocalist, songwriter and producer behind Advocatus Diaboli and the Grim Leafer Band, creating original music that accompanies many of our creative projects.
Our Morning Mirage livestream brings conversation, music and entertainment directly from our New Mexico location.
Morning Mirage airs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 10:30 AM MT.
It’s part of our continuing effort to connect our off-grid life, music and creative projects with people watching from around the world.
๐ถ Music in the Desert
Music in the Desert brings live music and entertainment from our off-grid New Mexico location.
Music in the Desert is scheduled for:
Tuesday nights
Thursday nights
Saturday nights
The livestream is available on TikTok, with in-person opportunities at our campground as well.
๐ค Melodious Karaoke
Every Wednesday night, we also bring you Melodious Karaoke.
Whether you’re camping with us or watching online, karaoke is another way we’re turning our off-grid location into an entertainment destination.
๐ Is the Dragon Real?
No โ the dragon is AI-generated fantasy.
But the solar panels, the off-grid lifestyle, the New Mexico surroundings, the campground, the music and the people behind the project are real.
That’s what makes this kind of video fun. We can take something completely ordinary from our daily life and use technology and imagination to transform it into something people wouldn’t expect to see.
So the next time you look at a solar panel, rememberโฆ
You never know what’s hiding inside it. ๐โ๏ธ๐
๐ต Experience Our New Mexico World
From Ka-Hoon Campground & Event Center to Colquhoun Entertainment, Advocatus Diaboli, Morning Mirage, Music in the Desert and Melodious Karaoke, we’re building something that combines camping, music, entertainment, technology and off-grid New Mexico living.
Follow along as we continue creating, performing, camping, livestreaming and occasionally letting a dragon loose around the solar panels.

Colquhoun Entertainment is part of the creative environment surrounding Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center, bringing together music, entertainment, camping, and unique experiences in Central New Mexico.
Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center uses a color code to help campers understand the different areas throughout the campground.
The color-coded map identifies areas that may be communal, private, reservable, or property border areas, making it easier for campers to understand where they can set up their campsite.
Yellow: Communal Area, all are welcome
Black: Private, Off Limits
Yellow/Orange: Reservable areas
Orange: Property line
Choose Your Campsite
At Ka-Hoon Campground, campers can choose where they want to camp within the areas available to them.
Once you choose your campsite, that space can become your own private camping area as long as you remain within the designated boundaries and stay away from private areas.
This gives campers freedom to choose their space while still respecting the campground’s designated areas.
Communal Camping Areas
Some areas at Ka-Hoon Campground are communal
If you choose a campsite located inside a designated communal area, the area remains communal rather than becoming an exclusive private space.
Campers using communal areas should respect the shared nature of those spaces.
Private and Reservable Areas
Private and reservable areas are identified separately from communal camping areas.
Campers should remain outside designated private areas unless they have permission or have specifically reserved that area.
The color code helps make these distinctions easier to understand.
Stay Within the Borders
The basic rule is simple:
Choose your campsite.
Stay within the designated boundaries.
Stay away from private areas.
Respect communal areas.
Know which areas are reservable.
Respect the campground and the people using it.
Understanding the color code helps everyone know where their camping space begins and ends.

Sandstorm Hits Ka-Hoon Campground in the New Mexico Desert
A sandstorm hit Ka-Hoon Campground, and we were caught trying to make it home before the storm arrived. ๐ช๏ธ๐๏ธ
We saw the New Mexico desert weather moving in and tried to beat it back homeโbut the storm got there first. We didn’t make it in time.
Within a short amount of time, the peaceful high-desert landscape around Ka-Hoon Campground was being swallowed by blowing sand and dust.
We Tried to Beat the Sandstorm Home
Living in the New Mexico desert means paying attention to the weather. A beautiful day can change quickly when strong winds begin pushing dust and sand across the landscape.
When we realized the sandstorm was moving toward Ka-Hoon Campground, we tried to make it home before it arrived.
Unfortunately, we didn’t make it in time.
Sometimes, you simply can’t outrun the desert.
The Storm Arrived Fast
The storm moved in quickly, bringing:
๐ช๏ธ Blowing sand
๐จ Strong desert winds
๐๏ธ Dust across the landscape
๐ต Reduced visibility
๐ซ๏ธ A dramatic change in the desert atmosphere
This is one of those moments that reminds us that off-grid living isn’t always peaceful and predictable.
Real Off-Grid Living in New Mexico
Ka-Hoon Campground is located in the New Mexico high desert, where weather is part of everyday life.
Our experience includes everything from beautiful sunsets and quiet desert nights to wind, dust storms, sandstorms, and rapidly changing weather.
That’s part of what makes off-grid living so different from living in town.
You experience the environment directly.
There is no hiding from the weather.
Sandstorms and Dust Storms in the New Mexico Desert
New Mexico desert storms can create dramatic conditions in a surprisingly short amount of time. Strong winds can lift loose dust and sand, creating a wall of blowing material across roads and open desert.
For anyone traveling through or living in the high desert, changing weather conditions are something worth watching closely.
Our sandstorm at Ka-Hoon Campground was a perfect example.
We tried to get home before it hit.
The storm won. ๐ช๏ธ

Mystery Animal Caught on Camera at Ka-Hoon Campground in the New Mexico Desert
Another mysterious visitor has appeared on the security cameras at Ka-Hoon Campground & Event Center, part of Plateau Hame de Colquhoun in the New Mexico desert.
We’re trying to identify this one because, at first glance, it looks like it could be a fox โ but the animal’s size, shape and proportions have us questioning that identification.
Could it be a large raccoon? We don’t see many raccoons out here in the desert. We do, however, have badgers in the area, making this mystery even more interesting.
So we’re asking our readers:
What do YOU think this animal is?
Caught on the Ka-Hoon Security Camera
The animal was captured moving through the property on our security system.
At first, our best guess was fox, but something about the animal’s appearance doesn’t quite seem right.
The questions we’re trying to answer:
๐ฆ Is it a fox? ๐ฆ Could it be a large raccoon? ๐ฆก Could we be looking at a badger?
๐Maybe a dog ๐พ Is it another New Mexico desert animal entirely?
Watch the footage carefully and examine the animal’s body shape, size, legs, tail and movement before making your guess.
Fox, Raccoon or Dog?
Identifying wildlife from a security-camera recording isn’t always easy.
Distance, camera angle, nighttime lighting and movement can make an animal appear significantly different from how it would look up close.
That’s why we’re not claiming we know what this animal is.
We’re putting the mystery out to the community.
๐ฆ Could It Be a Fox?
Foxes can be found in New Mexico, and their body shape can make them a reasonable first guess.
But the apparent size and proportions of this animal are what make us hesitate.
๐ฆ Could It Be a Raccoon?
A large raccoon could potentially create some of the same visual confusion.
However, raccoons aren’t something we commonly see around our part of the New Mexico desert, which makes this possibility particularly interesting.
๐ Could It Be a Dog?
Dog is another possibility worth considering.
We do encounter free-ranging dog populations, including both feral groups and unattended domestic animals.
Help Us Identify This New Mexico Desert Animal
This is where we need your help.
Watch the footage and leave your best identification in the comments.
Don’t just tell us what you think it is โ tell us why.
What did you notice?
Body shape?
Size?
Tail?
Legs?
Head shape?
Movement?
Walking pattern?
Overall proportions?
Someone familiar with New Mexico wildlife may recognize something we’re missing.
Wildlife Around Ka-Hoon Campground
