Cully Is Ready for Another Ka-Hoon Night
Cully has already enjoyed karaoke. Now he’s ready for Music in the Desert!
If you’re looking for New Mexico camping, off-grid camping, live music, karaoke and peaceful campground nights, follow along with Cully and Colquhoun Entertainment.
The weirdest thing happened during Music in the Desert last night.
And surprisingly, seeing a coyote—or possibly a lobo—wasn’t actually the weirdest part.
We’re used to wildlife being part of life here in the New Mexico high desert.
What we didn’t expect was to catch this particular visitor on camera while our music show was happening.
🌵 A Coyote Appears on the Road
We had been outside walking around just minutes before we caught him—or her—walking down the road.
Our dogs had been loose shortly before the sighting, which made the timing particularly interesting.
Then, there he was.
A wild canine quietly making his way along the road while Music in the Desert was happening nearby.
We don’t know for certain whether this was a coyote or a lobo, so we’re leaving that identification open.
🎶 Wildlife Meets Live Music
There’s something pretty surreal about living in a place where you can be putting on a live music show one minute and watching wildlife wander through the desert the next.
That’s simply part of life at Plateau Hame de Colquhoun.
We’re surrounded by open high-desert landscape, and wildlife occasionally becomes part of the scenery.
You never quite know what might wander past.
🚫 At Least He Obeyed the Signs!
Here’s the funny part.
Our unexpected visitor stayed on the road.
And, as far as we know, he respected the NO TRESPASSING signs. 😉
We couldn’t help but joke that this particular visitor had better manners than some humans!
Maybe he was just passing through.
Maybe he heard the music.
Maybe he was checking to see what all the noise was about.
We’ll never know.
🐕 The Dogs Had Just Been Outside
The timing was especially interesting because we’d been walking around with the dogs shortly before the camera caught the visitor.
That makes the sighting something we’re definitely going to remember.
Life in the high desert isn’t always predictable, and that’s part of what makes living out here so interesting.
🐺 Coyote or Lobo?
Now comes the question we’re hoping viewers can help us with.
What do you think we caught on camera?
A coyote? A lobo? Something else?
We’re not claiming a definite identification from this footage, so if you know your New Mexico wildlife, tell us what you see.
🎵 Music in the Desert at Plateau Hame de Colquhoun
Music in the Desert is part of the entertainment happening at Plateau Hame de Colquhoun.
It’s live music in a very unusual setting: the wide-open New Mexico high desert.
Sometimes the entertainment is on stage.
Sometimes nature decides to provide its own.
Last night, apparently, we got both.
🌙 Another Night in the New Mexico High Desert
This is one of those moments that probably couldn’t have been planned.
A live music show.
The desert at night.
Dogs recently outside.
And then a wild visitor casually walking down the road.
That’s life at Plateau Hame de Colquhoun.
You just never know who—or what—is going to show up. 🐺🌵
👀 What Do You Think?
Watch the footage and tell us what you think we caught.
Coyote or lobo?
And did our unexpected guest really stop at the road because he respected the NO TRESPASSING signs?
Cully is beginning his adventures here in the New Mexico high desert, and his first stop is the stage during Melodious Karaoke on Wednesday nights.
With our Scottish-inspired connection to the Colquhoun name and our very un-Scottish surroundings in the high desert of New Mexico, Cully fits right in—especially when there’s music involved!
🎤 Cully Takes the Stage at Melodious Karaoke
Cully isn’t content to sit around the campground
. On Wednesday nights, he takes the stage during Melodious Karaoke, joining in on the musical fun.

🏕️ Cully’s Adventures at Plateau Hame de Colquhoun
Cully isn’t going to be limited to the karaoke stage.
We’re planning to take this little dragon on all kinds of adventures around Plateau Hame de Colquhoun and Ka-Hoon Campground & Event Center.
Future Cully adventures could include:
Camping under the New Mexico stars
Exploring the high desert
Joining Music in the Desert
Meeting campground visitors
Discovering Scottish traditions
Getting into a little dragon-sized mischief
Singing more songs
Exploring the unique world of off-grid life
Basically, we’re not entirely sure what Cully is going to get himself into next. 😂
🏴 Scottish Roots Meet the New Mexico High Desert
The Colquhoun name has Scottish roots, and our property embraces that connection while existing in a very different environment: the wide-open New Mexico high desert.
That’s part of what makes Cully fun.
He’s a little piece of Scottish-inspired fantasy dropped right into our real-world desert life.
A Scottish dragon in New Mexico? Why not? 🐉
🎵 Music: “Feed Us Breath”
Cully’s appearance in this video features:
“Feed Us Breath” by Brent Calhoun, Advocatus Diaboli

🐉 What Should Cully Do Next?
This is only the beginning of Cully’s adventures.
So we’re asking you:
What should the Colquhoun Dragon do next?
Should he go camping? Sing another song? Explore the desert? Join the band? Meet a desert cow?
Leave your idea in the comments and help us decide where Cully goes next!

🐉 A Dragon Came Out of Our Solar Panels?! AI Fantasy Meets Off-Grid New Mexico
Sometimes life at our off-grid home in Central New Mexico gets a little… mythical. 🌵☀️🐉
We decided to turn our real solar-powered surroundings into something completely unexpected: an AI-generated fantasy video featuring a colorful dragon emerging from our solar panels, surrounded by vibrant imagery and symbols inspired by the ancient cultural landscape of New Mexico.
The result is a wild combination of New Mexico desert scenery, solar power, off-grid living, fantasy art, ancient-inspired symbols and original music.
And while the dragon isn’t real, the place that inspired it absolutely is.
🌵 AI Fantasy Inspired by Real New Mexico
Our home and creative space at Plateau Hame de Colquhoun LLC sits in Central New Mexico, where we live an off-grid lifestyle surrounded by the unique landscape and character of the Southwest.
The video combines:
🐉 AI-generated dragon fantasy
☀️ Real solar-powered off-grid living
🌵 New Mexico-inspired imagery
🔥 Colorful fantasy visuals
🏕️ Off-grid camping
🎸 Original music
🎤 Live entertainment
📺 Livestreaming and creative projects
It’s a little bit of technology, a little bit of imagination, and a whole lot of New Mexico.
⚡ Life Off the Grid
Solar power is a real part of our everyday life.
Instead of simply showing the practical side of solar energy, we decided to let our imagination take over. What if something ancient and mythical could emerge from the very technology that helps power our off-grid life?
That’s where the dragon came from. The colorful AI imagery turns an ordinary piece of our off-grid setup into something magical and unexpected.
🏕️ Ka-Hoon Campground & Event Center
Our property is also home to Ka-Hoon Campground & Event Center, an off-grid camping and event destination in Central New Mexico.
Visitors can experience a different side of New Mexico — one that combines rural surroundings, creativity, music, camping and community.
Whether you’re interested in:
Off-grid camping
New Mexico travel
Events and entertainment
Desert scenery
Music
Creative experiences
Getting away from ordinary campground life
Ka-Hoon is a place built around doing things a little differently.
Colquhoun Entertainment brings together our music, livestreams, creative projects and entertainment.

The music featured with this video comes from Brent Calhoun — Advocatus Diaboli.

Our Morning Mirage livestream brings conversation, music and entertainment directly from our New Mexico location.
Morning Mirage airs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 10:30 AM MT.
It’s part of our continuing effort to connect our off-grid life, music and creative projects with people watching from around the world.
🎶 Music in the Desert
Music in the Desert brings live music and entertainment from our off-grid New Mexico location.
Music in the Desert is scheduled for:
Tuesday nights
Thursday nights
Saturday nights
The livestream is available on TikTok, with in-person opportunities at our campground as well.
🎤 Melodious Karaoke
Every Wednesday night, we also bring you Melodious Karaoke.
Whether you’re camping with us or watching online, karaoke is another way we’re turning our off-grid location into an entertainment destination.
🐉 Is the Dragon Real?
No — the dragon is AI-generated fantasy.
But the solar panels, the off-grid lifestyle, the New Mexico surroundings, the campground, the music and the people behind the project are real.
That’s what makes this kind of video fun. We can take something completely ordinary from our daily life and use technology and imagination to transform it into something people wouldn’t expect to see.
So the next time you look at a solar panel, remember…
You never know what’s hiding inside it. 🐉☀️😂
🌵 Experience Our New Mexico World
From Ka-Hoon Campground & Event Center to Colquhoun Entertainment, Advocatus Diaboli, Morning Mirage, Music in the Desert and Melodious Karaoke, we’re building something that combines camping, music, entertainment, technology and off-grid New Mexico living.
Follow along as we continue creating, performing, camping, livestreaming and occasionally letting a dragon loose around the solar panels.

Colquhoun Entertainment is part of the creative environment surrounding Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center, bringing together music, entertainment, camping, and unique experiences in Central New Mexico.
Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center uses a color code to help campers understand the different areas throughout the campground.
The color-coded map identifies areas that may be communal, private, reservable, or property border areas, making it easier for campers to understand where they can set up their campsite.
Yellow: Communal Area, all are welcome
Black: Private, Off Limits
Yellow/Orange: Reservable areas
Orange: Property line
Choose Your Campsite
At Ka-Hoon Campground, campers can choose where they want to camp within the areas available to them.
Once you choose your campsite, that space can become your own private camping area as long as you remain within the designated boundaries and stay away from private areas.
This gives campers freedom to choose their space while still respecting the campground’s designated areas.
Communal Camping Areas
Some areas at Ka-Hoon Campground are communal
If you choose a campsite located inside a designated communal area, the area remains communal rather than becoming an exclusive private space.
Campers using communal areas should respect the shared nature of those spaces.
Private and Reservable Areas
Private and reservable areas are identified separately from communal camping areas.
Campers should remain outside designated private areas unless they have permission or have specifically reserved that area.
The color code helps make these distinctions easier to understand.
Stay Within the Borders
The basic rule is simple:
Choose your campsite.
Stay within the designated boundaries.
Stay away from private areas.
Respect communal areas.
Know which areas are reservable.
Respect the campground and the people using it.
Understanding the color code helps everyone know where their camping space begins and ends.

Journey’s Place: A Hidden New Mexico Restaurant Worth the Trip
Last weekend for Labor Day, we went looking for some good food and ended up discovering a little hidden gem: Journey’s Place.
It looked like the kind of place you might drive right past if you didn’t know it was there. Tucked away in what felt like the middle of nowhere, Journey’s Place was surprisingly busy—and after eating there, we understood why.
The food was great, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it was absolutely worth the trip.
A Hidden Restaurant in New Mexico
One of the fun things about exploring New Mexico is discovering restaurants and local businesses that aren’t necessarily sitting in the middle of a busy commercial area.
Journey’s Place had that hidden-gem restaurant feeling.
From the outside, you might wonder how busy a restaurant could be in a location that feels so far removed from everything. Then you arrive and realize other people already know about the place.
The restaurant was busy when we visited, which was a pretty good sign.
The Food Was Worth the Drive
Of course, a hidden location doesn’t mean much if the food isn’t good.
Fortunately, Journey’s Place delivered.
We had a great meal and left feeling like the trip had been well worth it. Sometimes the restaurants you have to make a little effort to find turn out to be the ones you remember.
For anyone who enjoys discovering local New Mexico restaurants, small-town food, hidden restaurants, and places off the beaten path, Journey’s Place is the kind of place that catches your attention.
Exploring Central New Mexico
We enjoy getting out and exploring the area around Central New Mexico, especially when it leads us to places we might not have otherwise discovered.
Not every adventure has to involve a major destination.
Sometimes it’s simply getting in the vehicle, finding somewhere interesting to eat, enjoying the scenery, and discovering a local business along the way.
That’s what made this Labor Day outing fun.
