CA Trip, Amigo the Puppy

Ka-Hoon Campground

Next week we’ll be heading off the land for a couple weeks to attend Aftershock Festival in CA. Plateau Hame De Colquhoun will remain open to campers while we are gone.

We are excited to be hosting a private event this weekend, October 21 will be the Haunted Hay (Hell) Ride and Haunted Hell Ride & After Party With Dirty Brown Jug Band

Amigo the pup update

He is 9 weeks old today. Dreugan loves to play with him, though Dreugan tends to play a little “ruff”, soon Amigo will be able to keep up.  We’ve been taking him for rides in the pickup and car to get him ready for next week’s trip.Last night was Amigos first full night of sleep, we even had to wake him up at 3 am to take him out.

Hight Temperature and RV living

We watched a RV YouTube video and they were saying you can’t be without AC in a RV in extreme heat stating “all RVs are heat boxes”.. It’s 103 out today and 89 inside. Maybe to some 89 is too hot, but to us it’s not that bad. (Ignore the date on the weather station, it doesn’t connect to the internet anymore). 14 degrees cooler in a class A with windows open and running a fan isn’t bad. You can do it without AC, is it for everyone? probably not.

Music in the Desert Open Mic Successful!

Music in the Desert Open Mic was a success, We had a wide variety of talent show up, and everyone seemed to enjoy their night. Music in the Desert Open Mic ran until 1 am.
We would like to Thank everyone that came out and look forward to seeing you all at the Haunted Hell Ride & After Party With Dirty Brown Jug Band and Haunted Hay (Hell) Ride !!

The new little Music in the Desert mascot Amigo loved hanging out with everyone, though it worn him out.

New Colquhoun!!

Some may know a couple weeks ago we lost Litha. She was a wonderful dog and loved everyone.. Today we went to Walmart and someone had puppies, we usually don’t look, but for some reason it felt like we needed to. We walked over to look at the puppies and they had one that looked a lot like Litha, we debated on getting him, as we didn’t want a puppy nor thought we were ready for a new dog. But for some reason we picked the pup up and felt like he belonged, after a few minutes of talking we decided to take him.. Now we are home, the first thing he did was lay by the water bowl, which was Lithas favorite place as a puppy.

Music in the Desert Open Mic today Sept 17 6PM at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun

Today the Music in the Desert Open Mic a FREE event. Music starts at 6pm. Bring a chair, something to roast over the fire, beer, bud, water and your talent!!

5pm will be volunteers meeting for the Haunted Hay (Hell) Ride volunteers get free entry to the Haunted Hell Ride & After Party With Dirty Brown Jug Band and free camping for tonight’s open mic and the After Party on October 21st.

From I25 take exit 191 Belen Camino Del Llano, go west onto Camino Del Llano. (Opposite direction from Loves Truck stop, last available gas station)

Continue all the way up the hill.

Cattle crossing -first left on Harrison

6/10 mile Right on Marble quarry Rd

7/10 mile Left on Claudine Rd (at stop sign)

4/10 mile turns to dirt stay on dirt.

2 miles Stay to the left (straight at the curve)

5.5 miles Turn Right There is a sign with an arrow pointing to the right. (This road is the first road in the right after Lulu Lane, if by No RVs sign, you have gone too far)

3/10 miles Take left end of the road (Twinnings Rd) Arrow pointing Left

2.6 miles take left (Colquhoun Way) .

2/10 miles you have arrived. (There’s a Blue Moon Shipping container)

Plateau Hame De Colquhoun Music in the Desert Open Mic and Karaoke

Only 3 more days until Music in the Desert Open Mic and Karaoke!! A free event, free to attend, free to vend. Only cost is if you’d like to camp $10.00 a site up to 10 people per site. Come early to set up, drink, smoke, party and head home the next day.

We’ll have tickets for sale for both the Haunted Hay (Hell) Ride and Haunted Hell Ride & After Party With Dirty Brown Jug Band plus I survived Music in the Desert T shirts, charms all at the Plateau Hame De Colquhoun booth!!

We are still looking for volunteers for the Hell Ride. Saturday Sept 17th at 5 PM is the first meeting. Volunteers get free admission to the After Party, free camping at both open mic and After Party. Contact us to sign up!!!

This Saturday just 4 days away will be a fun night of Open Mic and Karaoke. Come camp, sit around a bonfire, roast s’morse and or hotdogs (Make sure to bring them), listen to some music, experience the beautiful views of the skies, mountains, have fun and relax.

We offer “I Survived Music In the Desert” Tshirts. You can purchase Early bird Tickets for the Haunted Hay (Hell) Ride and the Haunted Hell Ride & After Party With Dirty Brown Jug Band at the Plateau Hame De Colquhoun booth. We will also be giving away tickets for 2 for both the hay ride and the after party!

JAFO Productions very own Brent Colquhoun will be singing during the open mic. Don’t forget Dirty Brown Jug Band will be preforming during the After Party on October 21st!

The lights and sound (PA System) of Plateau Hame De Colquhoun is JAFO Productions.

JAFO Productions is run by Brent Colquhoun. Brent has been a sound engineer and vocalist for over 30 yrs. He has worked alongside Rhythm Priest Products for many years. Together they have run sound and lights for many bands.
