Happy Wednesday! We’ve been busy here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun getting ready for this year’s events to start. April Fool’s Open Mic will be first of many. April Fool’s open Mic is on Saturday April 1 starts at noon, all are welcome to attend this is BYOB, 420 friendly and FREE. There will be vendors, food, bonfire, camping is available.

We still have a few vendor spots available!

May 19th to 21st is the Nomad Gathering in the Desert a weekend full of activities,food, vendors, bonfires, a movie and music. Jer Killinger Singer/Songwriter and J5th & the 77 Riders will be playing Saturday night!

Dealing with High Desert Wind Storm’s

Warm sunny day, yet 40 mph gusts with 30 mph constant winds. Wind storms here aren’t much different then blizzards in MN. Visibility is bad, everything gets full of sand especially your eyes and mouth. You have to shut all windows, close curtains and doors to try keep the sands out, even then everything inside gets covered.
I usually wear a mask when outside, as my sinuses swell all up everytime it gets windy.

It seems so quiet here Plateau Hame De Colquhoun right now, first day in over a week we don’t have any campers.

We’ve had a couple people ask why we don’t post more pictures of people camping? We don’t share photos of people camping out of privacy and respect to anyone staying here.

It’s been a busy week. We’ve had a week of campers, an event coming up April 2nd here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun . Still don’t have everything set up the way we’d like, but that is mostly due to cost of lumber..

it’s warming up, though been windy. Which makes clearing tumble weeds a daily task, though Dreugan loves chasing them.

Went and ate at the RSH Steakhouse in Belen tonight, highly recommend going it ever in town!!

Back here Plateau Hame De Colquhoun we are getting ready for a small private event. We haven’t had much of a chance to start working on the new store front. But hoping soon we’ll be able to. So many projects, so little time. We have high wind advisories for tomorrow, which means we won’t get much done. But that’s okay as it’s off to the dentist tomorrow for me.

Within this desolate area we have a community that watch out for each other. We have became a family. As a family we check up on each other, visit and get annoyed with each other. We know all that is going on, for if one sees something or someone unusual, we all get a call.

Hard to believe this view is not from another planet! We see this view everyday here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun. So far our views haven’t gotten old. Hardest part is learning all the mountains and their names etc.  This mountain is easy its Ladrone Peak! Ladrone meaning thieves, the story goes that outlaws used to hide up on Ladrone Peak as there wasn’t anyway to ambush them, they can see 100 miles in all directions.
