Plateau Hame De Colquhoun Event Planning

We have been so busy planning events that I haven’t taken time to post any updates. I feel it’s going to be a fun and exciting year here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun . We still have openings if you’d like to host an event.

Here are a few events we have scheduled that I can share.

April Fool’s Open Mic is a FREE event. Camping is only $10.00 for two (2) nights! Book your site while you can!

May 19th to 21st is the NM Nomad Gathering in the Desert. More information is coming soon!

October will be the 2nd Haunted Hay Ride and After Party!

Cloudy,Windy Day in the Desert.

Windy, Cloudy day in the Desert. Cloudy rainy days are rare here. Wish we could say the same about the winds, winds up here on the Mesa can be damaging and unpredictable at times. You can have days of solid 20 to 30 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph or more. Everything must be solid, tents work for short term stays, with some type of wind blockage. When we have tent campers stay we advise them to watch the flag and move their vehicle accordingly to block winds.

We’d like to remind everyone of the April Fool’s Open Mic on Saturday April 1st. Noon to whenever we feel like being done, FREE Entry. Camping RV and Tent sites available $10.00 for 2 Nights of camping. RV: 1 RV per site Max 10 people. Tents: 2 Tents per site Max 10 people. Westland Meadows will be serving food!!

April Fool’s Open Mic campsite bookings

Ka-Hoon Campground

You can now book an RV or tent campsite for the April Fool’s Open Mic on April 1st starting at noon.

RV and Tent campers are allowed to stay 2 nights, gates open 3 pm March 31st 2023 (For Campers only).

General admission Gates open for April Fool’s Open Mic on Noon April 1st .

Campers may not come in during the event.

RV sites are for one RV, all extra vehicles must be parked in the parking lot during the event. 10 person max per site.

Tent sites are for 2 tents max 10 people per site. Extra vehicles must be parked in the parking lot during the event.

Entry to April Fool’s Open Mic is FREE. BYOB and 420 friendly no sales allowed on site. Must be 21 + to drink or have 420. We will ask those choosing to serve anyone underage to leave.

Open Mic at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun

Plateau Hame De Colquhoun will be hosting an Open Mic. April 1 2023 starts at noon until we are done. Camping available $10.00 per campsite. Up to 2 tents per site or 1 RV, max 10 guests per campsite. Open Mic is FREE to attend.

Bring your instruments, your comedy or whatever talent you have. JAFO Productions (Brent Calhoun) will be available for sound reinforcement for all needed stage performances. Contact JAFO Productions with inquiries of need or assisting set up. JAFO Productions (Brent Calhoun) is an experienced lead vocalist, song writer of The Infinite End Project. Vocalist, co-writer and sound engineer for Rhythm Priest Productions.

Night of Music in the Desert at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun with JAFO Productions

Last Saturday we had a nice little music night out here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun . Listened to some Amigo The Devil (Amigo the dog even hung out with us) , Tuatha Dea and Brent Colquhoun from our very own JAFO Productions ! It was a beautiful night to sit out by the fire and enjoy some music in the Desert!

Amigo hung out with us while playing a little bit of music for the neighbors. Nothing can beat some nice music and watching the sunset over the Ladrones while being in the middle of the desert.

Plateau Hame De Colquhoun’s JAFO Productions has a full array of stage setups to meet all your music needs. Plateau Hame De Colquhoun is set up for concerts, gatherings, weddings, reunions… Or just come out to camp a night, a weekend or more.

Dreugan is the vocal dog that lives at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun.

Dreugan, Weillow and Amigo all live with us here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun. Dreugan is a 100 lb 2 year old Huskweiler that lives to talk. Amigo is our 6 month old Lab mix, he’s our thief he loves to steal socks and keeps stealing Dreugan’s toys and hiding them.

Dreugan has to stay tied while outside not because he takes off (though sometimes he scares campers) but because every time we allow him to run the yard he gets sick. We do let him off but we try to monitor him. He loves chasing lizards, yucca roots (we know yucca root isn’t the issue as him and Amigo’s favorite toy is a yucca root), we are thinking the issue is the lizards. He does have allergies so could be many things, but when he stays tied he doesn’t get sick as often. Plus he is very vocal (husky side) his looks and size tend to intimidate people.

Snow Capped Mountain views

Ka-Hoon Campground

View of the Snow top mountains from Plateau Hame De Colquhoun . This morning the 6th of January most of that snow is gone. But still very beautiful views. When we looked at the property before purchasing the views were the selling point. 75% of the views are mountains, we can see Mount Taylor by Grant, Sandia by Albuquerque.  We do get military aircraft traffic, a lot of refueling practices, maybe even a few UFOs.
