Beautiful morning here Plateau Hame De Colquhoun ! Didn’t get as cold as forecasted which is good. We’re still waiting on the AIM Solar Power Solutions replacement controller. If you missed the posts about it. Just after we got all batteries hooked up, the controller and inverter. We heard a pop and found the controller had died. We never even got to use it.. Now we’re being told that controller is out of stock.. So again we wait…

Look back over the year
It’s hard to believe it’s been only a year. What we have accomplished during that time is hard to fathom. We went from all of us being in a 26 foot class C with portable carports (That winds kept destroying, we kept patching) for kitchen. To at 36foot class A, the class C, 3 containers, and an outdoor compost toilet. We now have finished getting our LLC for Plateau Hame De Colquhoun . Though solar is very very slowly getting finished, it’s almost complete! The land is getting to point all we need to do is maintain it! We are getting bookings!
Let’s hope the next year will be just as, if not more productive!!

RV Issues
Made it back home.. But not without some drama. In the video you can see why.. While following behind the Beast I noticed smoke, first I had hoped it was spilled oil or something, as was coming from center and not the exhaust.. I figured if it was coolant or oil Brent would know as the gauges would show it getting warm or oil level dropping.
Just as I decided to call him and inform him of the smoke another Class A he was following pulled off onto the shoulder. I figured they where the ones smoking.. The smoke stopped or slowed down enough that wasn’t noticable.. We got to Walmart (Where we had planned to stop), I see smoke or steam (wasn’t sure which one) coming from the hood.. So I asked Brent is it running hot? He stated no all gauges look good. So we start inspecting and found the culprit. We were leaking tranny fluid from the transmission gasket.. After a call and run back to Albuquerque Statkus Engines Service Center replaced the gasket at their cost 珞 and so far all is good, we thank them!!
If I hadn’t been following behind in the car would we had noticed this issue in time? I’d hope we notice the smoke when we parked.

The Beast is back!
Look who’s back!!! Yep the Beast is done, with new brakes, rotors, transmission flush, radiator flush, brake line bleed and refill, wheel bearings done, filters, oil changed on both motor and generator. They even fixed a turn signal that wasn’t working!
We’re booked at the hotel one more night, so we’re taking advantage of it and stay… We give a yell out to Statkus Engines Service Center for doing the work.

Day Two in the Hotel
It’s official we’d rather be in a RV than a Hotel.. We are hoping the RV will be finished Thursday than we can get out if here. Sure being able to take long hot showers is nice, but the dogs can hear people walking and talking down the halls, having to walk them out past others who fear them just due to their size.
Solar controller update; the AIM Solar Power Solutions controller was supposed to come in this week. Today we where informed that they are out of stock on that controller, we may not be able to get one until the end of the month…
The RV AKA “The Beast” is getting new brakes, maybe rotors they are going to try to turn them, transmission, brake flush, wheel bearings packed and an oil change. Statkus Engines Service Center

Night in a Hotel
The Beast (Class A) is in the shop getting brakes, oil change, tranny flush and few other maintenance things done. While work is being done we are staying at a hotel. Not sure yet of our feelings of being in a hotel…

One Year Anniversary
One year ago today we arrived on our property Plateau Hame De Colquhoun ! Tonight we’ll be staying at a Harvest Host Starr Brothers Brewing Company in Albuquerque. Early in the morning we’ll be taking the Beast (Class A) in to get some maintenance done.

Quiet weekend
Not allot to report these last few days…
The solar build is still on hold awaiting the AIM Solar Power Solutions controller replacement to arrive.
This is the first weekend in over a month that we are not booked up with campers here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun .
Next week the Beast (Class A) will be going into the shop for a few days to get some maintenance done..
