It’s Okay to Be Yourself at Ka-hoon Campground and Event Center 🌵
Here at **Ka-hoon Campground and Event Center**, we believe it’s okay to be yourself. Out here in the open desert, there’s no pressure to fit in, rush, or be anything you’re not.
The desert moves at its own pace. Wide skies, quiet land, and open space invite you to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. This is a place where you can step away from expectations and simply be.
Respecting others matters — but just as important is **showing yourself respect**. Honoring your boundaries, your pace, and your truth is part of living authentically.
Whether you’re visiting our campground, attending an event, or experiencing off-grid living, Ka-hoon welcomes real people just as they are. Your voice belongs here. Your presence matters here.
Take the space you need. Be true to yourself. You’re welcome at **Ka-hoon Campground and Event Center**. 🌵✨
Life and the journey to Ka-Hoon Campground have a lot in common—bumpy, unpredictable, and totally worth it. The roads out here in the New Mexico desert aren’t perfect (we know), but they lead to something special.
We’ve built this off-grid space for *everyone*. It doesn’t matter who you voted for, your beliefs, or your background—what matters is respect. Whether you’re seeking quiet solitude or conversations around the fire with people from all walks of life, you’re welcome here.
We’ve been called a lot of things just for being different—cult leaders, satanic, eccentric. Truth is, we just like strange art, cool oddities, and having an open mind. Our library has books on all kinds of beliefs, not to worship, but to learn.
If that bothers you, that’s okay. But don’t judge what you haven’t taken the time to understand.
We’re just us. Off-grid, real, and always welcoming to those who respect others and embrace the journey—even the rough roads.
Yesterday was a busy day in the studio as we spent most of it rehearsing. In between, we had the pleasure of hosting a couple of wonderful campers. It’s always enjoyable giving tours and visiting with guests who come from all walks of life. One of our campers was a father and son who had just embarked on a two-week vacation to tour the USA, all the way from Switzerland! We were honored to be their first stop on such a special journey. Another camper had just retired from truck driving and is now planning to enjoy all the sights and experiences they had missed while on the road. We wish both of them the best on their travels!
If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with a welcoming community, be sure to visit us at **Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center**.

Yesterday, we dedicated our time to creativity and preparation at Ka-Hoon Campground. Advocatus spent the day in the studio working on new songs, crafting melodies that will soon resonate under the New Mexico skies. Meanwhile, I focused on designing a flyer for an upcoming event at a venue in Albuquerque. Once we receive the final approval, we’ll be excited to share all the details with you.

Our day wasn’t confined to the studio. We also took one of our campers on an adventurous tour of the mesa, showcasing the natural beauty and hidden gems of the area. The breathtaking views and the rich history of the mesa never fail to amaze our visitors, offering a unique experience each time.

A Desert Adventure: Lizard Hunting with Dreugan and Amigo
Join us on a desert escapade with Dreugan and Amigo as they embark on a thrilling lizard hunting expedition along the mesa’s edge. While adventure awaits, our furry companions learn valuable lessons about obedience and safety in the vast desert landscape.
**A Forbidden Quest:** Eager to explore beyond the yard, Dreugan and Amigo set their sights on lizard hunting along the mesa. Despite knowing the rules, their curiosity gets the better of them as they venture out of bounds. However, their mischievous escapade is soon interrupted when they spot Anne and me approaching.
**Learning Boundaries:** As we call out to them, Dreugan and Amigo hesitate but eventually heed our call. While they may have disobeyed, we take the opportunity to reinforce the importance of staying within the designated area. With gentle reminders and stern words, they learn that their safety comes first.
**Training and Rewards:** Back within the safety of the yard, we extend their freedom for a little longer as a reward for returning promptly. Dreugan, in particular, receives extra attention as we engage in training exercises and reinforce obedience with treats and praise. Despite occasional lapses in judgment, Dreugan’s enthusiasm for learning shines through, reminding us of the joys of working together.
**Balancing Freedom and Safety:** While we cherish giving our companions the freedom to roam, we’re mindful of the dangers that lurk beyond the confines of our yard. With the threat of loose dogs and Dreugan’s allergies to contend with, keeping them close is paramount. Through boundaries and supervision, we strive to strike a balance between freedom and safety in their desert playground.
**Conclusion:** As the sun sets on another desert day, Dreugan and Amigo retire with tired but content hearts. While their lizard hunting expedition may have been short-lived, the lessons learned about obedience and safety will endure. As we continue to explore the wonders of the desert together, our bond grows stronger, paving the way for many more adventures to come.
