One more week until April Fool’s Open Mic!!!!

One more week until the April Fool’s Open Mic ! We have so much work to get ready for this event. The weather has slowed us down to a crawl on finishing the store.

Make sure to bring your talent next Saturday starting at noon.

The April Fool’s Open mic is open to all, it’s FREE. There will be vendors, food vendors, music, bonfire, camping is available by booking through our website or stop at NEW (hopefully finished) Dusty Nails store to purchase a campsite or buy tickets for the Nomad Gathering in the Desert . Nomad Gathering is $20.00 for the weekend. Kids 10 and under are FREE!!

The April Fool’s Open Mic isn’t too far away! Come enjoy a day of music, poetry, comedy much more, vendors and a bonfire. All are welcome to this free event, bring your instruments, comedy, bands. Karaoke is available or bring your own tracks.

Tickets for the May Nomad Gathering in the Desert can be purchased during the April Fool’s Open Mic at the Plateau Hame De Colquhoun store.

Nomad Gathering is a 3 day event with live music, outdoor movie, talent show, bonfires, meetings and a silent auction.

New Stage

The new stage, we figured out how to level the stage platform, but meant buying material. The base is finished, now we just need to add the platform, level and add the ramp.

Everything is looking good for the April Fool’s Open Mic ! A free event starts at noon.. BYOB and 420 friendly!

For the Nomad Gathering in the Desert we are hoping to have the shower finished by.

Nomad Gathering is a weekend event, with talent show, movie, bonfires, silent auction, live music, vendors, food vendors…

Plateau Hame De Colquhoun store front

The tiny store front is almost finished! Just need to get the building in place, and paint it before we can start getting the inside setup!

To stay with our Modern Pioneerism this building was originally a shipping box, that we have fixed up, reinforced it with osb, and redoing a few of the frame pieces.

Now we have to wait out today’s winds before we can do more. Until then it’s laying on the ground to help protect it from the winds until we can move it and get it staked.

Day 2 Stage Build issues.

Day 2 of the stage we weren’t able to get as much done as we would have liked. The issue of Modern Pioneerism is that you have to think outside the box. Sometimes your plans and Ideas go as you plan, other times it takes some rethinking, planning and maybe some good neighbors to help. This was the case yesterday. But with the help of friends we are back on track..

The poles are in place, next is leveling (which was the hangup. How do we level the top of the stage? We had considered concrete, building a wood frame, packing with sand, many of these are against the Modern Pioneerism idea which is okay if we need to do it we will and have on other projects. But we think we got it figured out, and it’ll keep everything within our ideas.
