Trailers new location

Ka-Hoon Campground

New location of the trailer and temp location of the smaller solar system. We plan on putting the 3 300 gallon IBC totes in the trailer along with a well pump. Front part of the trailer will become home for the compost toilet. The silver hut next to the trailer will become a shower hut.

The solar setup is only here temporarily until the big setup is finished. Then it’ll get moved to it’s permanent location.

On side note we had a visitor, a preying mantis stopped in

Solar Frames finished!

Frames for the solar are finished! Got the trailer moved to it’s permanent home and set up the small solar in it’s temporary location.
Location for the new solar frames is empty, next step is to move frames in position, anchor them, then start mounting the panels! Once this is finished we have one more solar setup to build. Luckily next one is only 6 panels and not 16..

Almost finished!

Ka-Hoon Campground

Ground based solar frames are almost finished, only need couple more support boards, (again, that we need to pick up)but its better to over build with the winds in mind. The frame is adjustable, we can move the panels to adjust for angle of the sun…Each frame will hold 4 solar panels.
Next phase is to move the frames in place, then anchor down, and assemble the mountable panels!

Always Something

If it’s not having to run for lumber or parts that slowing the solar ground mount build, it’s the 110 temperatures and rain. We are hoping to have mounts up in the next day or two. Putting the panels on may have to wait as we have some commitments coming up.

Solar Ground Mount Build Phase 2

Part of phase 2 of solar ground mount build finished, we would had been finished but changed a little bit of the design… Which meant doing a HomeDepot run for more #lumber . We are hoping to have this part finished tomorrow and start working on the next phase of setting up and anchoring.

Another world?

Hard to believe this view is not from another planet! We see this view everyday here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun. So far our views haven’t gotten old. Hardest part is learning all the mountains and their names etc.  This mountain is easy its Ladrone Peak! Ladrone meaning thieves, the story goes that outlaws used to hide up on Ladrone Peak as there wasn’t anyway to ambush them, they can see 100 miles in all directions. If you know any history, we’d love to hear it! Feel free to post in the comments!

Delayed yet again

Heat, and storms. Dealing with weather doesn’t give us much chance to complete the projects we are wanting to complete. Today we were supposed to pickup an armoire and couple end tables, we’ll have to see what these clouds do before we can get them.

Laundry Day

This is what it looks like when we go do laundry and the solar is to low to run a fan to keep dogs cool while gone. They get to ride along. Dreugan gets his favorite spot the floor.

We haven’t been able to get much work done at home. Yesterday spent most of the day at the University for Dr appointments, today Laundry and few in town tasks due to possible rain the next few days. When it rains it can be hard to get off the mesa so we try to get everything done before hand.

Heat, rain slowing us down

All the containers have been delivered, we started setting up the kitchen, living room inside the one. Though with the heat, during day and rain at night. We’ve haven’t been able to achieve as much as we would like.
