This morning greeted us with a serene blanket of snow, a tranquil scene disrupted by the unexpected visit of free-ranging cattle. They made their way onto our property, venturing dangerously close to the solar panels and Music Studio.
Dealing with such encounters has always been a delicate balance. While we appreciate the freedom of the cattle to roam, we also recognize the potential for damage and disruption. Our concern extends not only to our property but also to the well-being of the cattle and our relationship with the rancher.
In the past, we refrained from allowing our dogs to chase the cattle, fearing it might stress them out or create complications with the rancher. However, the need to prevent further damage compelled us to take action. After careful consideration, we reached an agreement: the cattle are welcome to roam the property, but they must steer clear of certain areas, including the vicinity of the solar panels, circle, and buildings. If they encroach upon these spaces, we will intervene to chase them off.
This agreement allows us to strike a balance between respecting the freedom of the cattle and safeguarding our property. It’s a delicate dance, navigating the needs of both parties involved. Ultimately, our goal is to coexist harmoniously with the cattle while minimizing any potential conflicts.
As the snow continues to fall outside, we remain vigilant, ready to uphold our end of the agreement while ensuring the well-being of all involved. In this ever-changing landscape, finding balance is key to maintaining harmony on the property.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of spending a breezy Sunday with a few of our neighbors, seeking shelter from the forceful winds of the New Mexico desert in the comforting confines of the Greenroom. Despite the challenging conditions, we managed to enjoy a delightful meal together.
As the children attempted, albeit unsuccessfully, to fly a kite in the high winds, it became evident that nature had other plans for our outdoor activities. Undeterred, we shifted our focus to the age-old tradition of egg hunting. Amidst laughter and excitement, the children scoured the area, searching for hidden treasures.
However, the elusive nature of two eggs proved to be a challenge for both the children and the adults. Despite our best efforts, those two eggs remained undiscovered, destined to be stumbled upon by a fortunate event attendee or camper in the future.
Reflecting on the day, I regret not capturing more moments on film to cherish and share. Nonetheless, I take solace in the memories created and the bonds strengthened with our neighbors. Here’s to hoping that whoever finds those final two eggs will experience the same joy and camaraderie that we did, and perhaps enjoy the surprise within the plastic shells.

In a recent turn of events, our trusty 1984 F250 diesel truck encountered a setback when the rear transmission seal gave out. Despite receiving assurances from family and friends that the repair was straightforward, our lack of experience left us hesitant to attempt the fix ourselves. Fortunately, a neighbor with extensive mechanical expertise stepped in to lend a hand. After successfully replacing the seal and conducting a test drive that initially showed no signs of leakage, we decided to take the truck out for errands. However, a mere mile into our journey, we realized we had forgotten something and turned back. It was a stroke of luck, as upon our return, we discovered the truck was leaking diesel fuel profusely. Today, our neighbor is returning to assist us in diagnosing and repairing the leak. Despite this hiccup, our affection for the truck remains unwavering.
