Here is Mel planning the itinerary for the next big trip. Anyone else do this or do you find it’s better to wing it? We tend to have most of our trips layer out, but it’s all subject to change.. No matter how much research you do things don’t work out the way you plan..
Sitting here this morning listening to the wind hit the RV, wishing we had electricity to charge up our devices, watch TV. Yes we can run the generator and do all that. But that also means a noisy generator and using gasoline. But it’d also mean missing the sound of the wind blowing, or even sound of Dreugan at my feet snoring.
Soon we will have the new solar built, set up and it’s big enough to run the RV and Brent’s studio. Which means we can finally get Brent’s stuff out of storage and get the container set up. Then hopefully for the first time since we started this adventure on the West mesa ( or as we call it “Plateau Hame De Colquhoun”) we can feel at home.
Don’t get me wrong we are home, we love it here. But a huge part has been missing and it’s been in storage.
Can you guess what we’ll be doing? This is only half, rest has to be brought in by truck.. 2000 lbs worth. Anyone interested in coming and helping us set up? We would welcome the help Free Beer and campsite for anyone willing..
Haven’t heard back from the solar company, we are thinking the controller malfunctioned which allowed the batteries to over charge 😦 we were lucky that the batteries didn’t explode..
It’s usually not this messy and as much sand, had wind storm when we got home, we where so fet up we just left the mess and closed it up..
We made it home. After spending a night at Loves Truck stop..
Though not all was good once we got here. The controller went out on the solar which caused the batteries to over charge and ruin them. We’re now waiting for the manufacturer to contact us back to replace the controller, batteries and maybe inverter.. But until then back to boon docking..
Stayed last night at a nice sweet Alpaca farm. Highly recommend anyone going and visiting. Very friendly couple and informative, we learned a lot while here. Oh can’t forget the wonderful cookies!
We will be sharing more on this place along with others we’ve stayed at on our upcoming videos on our #artoftinyliving #youtubechannel
We made it to our stop. We’ll be spending the night here at Flying Js.. Early in the morning We’ll be heading to our last stop at a HH before heading home.
