Music In The Desert and dealing with heat!

The Music in the Desert ” Ladrones Quest ” here Plateau Hame De Colquhoun is over. We had a reasonable turnout, had a lot of fun and look forward to future events!

Day of the event we had temps as high as 110. With very little shade here in the desert, those temps made it hard to setup the gear, canopies. Luckily though around 11 pm it started to cool off. But one issue we had was once it cooled off we got tired. I feel asleep in the lawn chair. Music went until 3am. Breaking down wasn’t to bad due to the cooler temps. Now today the next day, it’s just as hot, we all are tired and a bit crabby.

What did we learn you may ask.. Next event we would like to get a good night’s sleep the night before (which we hadn’t as it didn’t cool down much the night before) and hopefully able to get a nap before hand. (We did drink a lot of water and Gatorade).

Saturday July 16 Music in the Desert at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun

One more day for Music in the Desert!! Gates open at 6 pm, come hang out, listen to music, sing, dance, roast s’morse, hot dogs over the bonfire, camp, drink, 420 friendly.

We are working on but nothing confirmed yet on having hotdogs and hamburgers available to purchase.

This is a free event.. BYOB, family friendly. I Survived Music in the Desert Tshirts will be available to purchase!

Donations of gas or funds to keep gas in the generator are welcome. Contact us for information.

4th of July at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun

Hope everyone had a good 4th of July! This was our first 4th not traveling, not working in a long time. It was nice to spend the weekend with our family of neighbors. Without leaving the #mesa we had been able to see fireworks every night.

Today we are back to getting things done for Ladrones Quest an event that we are hosting on July 16th. We are also planning 1 public event and one private one. Hopefully will be more to follow!! #Halloween the Rancho Rio Grande community will be doing a Haunted hay ride through the back roads up here on the mesa! We will be releasing the date, time, and tickets soon!!

Until then make sure to save yourself a little and get an Earlybird ticket for Ladrones Quest a night of music, relaxation, and fun, in a safe environment!!

Busy busy busy

Sorry we haven’t posted much on what we’ve been up to. We’ve been so busy trying to get everything ready for Ladrones Quest also working on a fun event for Halloween, you’ll have to check back for more info.

Last year we took the summer months off and went on a trip, where we did workshops at different festivals. This year we had debated on closing down for a couple of months (we didn’t think we’d get much for campers due to the heat) and taking a trip. But with gas prices, we decided to stay open. To our surprise, we have been getting bookings. So far everyone has enjoyed their stay. We did have one camper who lost a tent to the winds.
