Yesterday was our first real Music in the Desert Saturday at Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center (Plateau Hame De Colquhoun), and it turned out to be a fantastic time for everyone! We had a wonderful turnout and want to thank all of you for coming out and supporting us.

Yesterday, we dedicated our time to creativity and preparation at Ka-Hoon Campground. Advocatus spent the day in the studio working on new songs, crafting melodies that will soon resonate under the New Mexico skies. Meanwhile, I focused on designing a flyer for an upcoming event at a venue in Albuquerque. Once we receive the final approval, we’ll be excited to share all the details with you.

Our day wasn’t confined to the studio. We also took one of our campers on an adventurous tour of the mesa, showcasing the natural beauty and hidden gems of the area. The breathtaking views and the rich history of the mesa never fail to amaze our visitors, offering a unique experience each time.

Members-Only Memorial Day Potluck at Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center
Yesterday, we hosted a members-only Memorial Day potluck at Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center, and it was a resounding success! We had a fantastic turnout, and everyone brought delicious dishes to share. One of the highlights was Brent’s delectable Lemon Pepper Chicken, which everyone enjoyed.
After the meal, the kids had a blast crafting heart stuffies, a fun and creative activity that kept them engaged. Once they finished, they settled down in the Greenroom to watch a movie, providing a relaxing end to their busy day.
While the kids were crafting and watching movies, the adults enjoyed the serene ambiance around the bonfire in Cahoots Courtyard. It was a perfect opportunity to unwind, chat, and gaze at the breathtaking New Mexico skies.

Mysteries of the West Mesa: Strange Lights
As I sat outside, enjoying the cool night breeze and the expansive New Mexico skies, an unexpected and mysterious event unfolded before my eyes. A glowing ball of light, with an undetermined size, darted across the sky above me. Its movements were rapid and erratic, shifting in various directions.
Eager to capture this phenomenon, I attempted to record a video, but the light’s speed and distance, combined with my cell phone camera’s limitations, made it impossible. I watched, spellbound, as the light danced across the sky.
Moments later, helicopters appeared out of nowhere, seemingly targeting the light. As they approached, the light executed a sudden zigzag maneuver and vanished without a trace. This left me wondering—what exactly did I witness? Could it have been military aircraft, aliens, or something else entirely?
The West Mesa has long been shrouded in mystery, with sightings of unexplained lights and phenomena over the years. This latest encounter adds to the intrigue and leaves us with more questions than answers. What do you think the light was?
