Busy busy busy

Sorry we haven’t posted much on what we’ve been up to. We’ve been so busy trying to get everything ready for Ladrones Quest also working on a fun event for Halloween, you’ll have to check back for more info.

Last year we took the summer months off and went on a trip, where we did workshops at different festivals. This year we had debated on closing down for a couple of months (we didn’t think we’d get much for campers due to the heat) and taking a trip. But with gas prices, we decided to stay open. To our surprise, we have been getting bookings. So far everyone has enjoyed their stay. We did have one camper who lost a tent to the winds.

We can’t forget to do our reminder for the upcoming event, Ladrones Quest..

Life in the Desert

Living off-grid on top of a mesa in the middle of the desert.. Sounds easy right? Umm no! We love it here, but there are times we wanted to leave and never look back. We understand why nobody had ever lived here. It’s hard, the weather is unpredictable.. A nice calm day suddenly turns into 40 to 50 or even more mph gusts that disappear as fast as they appear.

Everything gets full of sand, your hair, eyes, mouth. Even with windows closed sand still gets into your house, and vehicles. There is no way to get away from it.

But the sunrises, sunsets, mountains, stars, wonderful neighbors, campers, and events like Mariah Dawn Shepherd & the Covert Dragon that’ll be here next Saturday all make it worth it.

Busiest Night for Campers!

It’s been a busy Saturday. One of our busiest nights for campers. Nice to see others enjoying the land, views, and tranquility as much as we do!

Next Saturday, April 2nd starting at noon, we’ll be hosting an Open Mic! Come laugh, listen or perform, talent, no talent all is good!

Waiting out Wind Storm

Sorry we haven’t posted in a few days. Last few days the only thing we’ve been doing has been sitting out the winds. “Fun” part of living on the desert is the winds, especially when you’re on a Mesa. When you go outside your eyes, mouth, get full of sand. Mask helps a little but not much.

Today was better, tomorrow we have another private event, which means getting things setup and cleaned up, tumble weeds are a never ending battle.
