Back in **October 2020**, we made the big move from Minnesota to New Mexico. We packed up, downsized, and hit the road toward a new chapter of life. Just a few months earlier, in **January 2020**, we purchased the land that would become **Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center**.
This vault video takes you back to those early daysâwhen we were still figuring things out, still dreaming, and not yet knowing how much this land would grow into what it is today. From Minnesota winters to New Mexico deserts, it was a leap of faith that became a new way of life.
Now, our homestead is not just home, itâs a place for **campers, musicians, and event-goers** to gather under the desert sky.

Spring is slowly settling in here at Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center, and weâre gearing up for our **first small event of the season on April 19th**! This year, weâre trying something new with a **hybrid Open Mic Night** â both **in-person** and **online**. Canât make it out to the desert? No problem! Join us on TikTok (details coming soon) and be a part of the fun from wherever you are.
Weâll likely start earlier for our in-person performers, then move online after dark. TikTok has a few limitations on songs, so weâre planning around that â stay tuned for finalized times and links!
Even though we havenât made much progress on projects around the campground (thanks to the wind and a steady flow of campers), itâs been busy in all the best ways. Brentâs still struggling with his arm, but heâs seeing an orthopedic specialist this week â fingers crossed for good news and a simple fix. Heâs ready to get back to using his hand and helping out more again.
**Looking ahead to July**, weâre excited to announce our **Halloween in the Summer Hootenanny** â an epic weekend of camping, music, and spooky fun under the desert stars. Decorate your campsite, join the campsite trick-or-treating, show off your costume, and even vend your handmade or unique goods if youâd like.

Weâve finally been able to get back into the studio! The cold weather and the need to conserve propane made it challenging, but last night we powered up the generator and spent an amazing evening in the studio. Advocatus Diaboli performed live on TikTok and YouTube, bringing their unique energy to the virtual stage.
Weâre excited to do this more often, weather permitting! Youâll be able to catch Advocatus Diaboliâand occasionally Shamshiniâperforming live on TikTok through Ka-Hoon Campground. While we havenât set a regular schedule yet, weâre working around weather, solar power, and the occasional use of the generator.
Last night, we attempted to record the show, but unfortunately, there was an issue with the mic settings, resulting in an echo. Weâll make sure to capture better recordings during the next live performance!
