What does living in the middle of the desert off grid mean? It means dealing with the weather, heat, wild life, lack of running water. It means camping 24/7. Problem I have now if I want to vacation I don’t enjoy going camping like I used to. Vacation to me is a running water, flush toilet oh and shower all under the same roof.
But the question is do I miss it? It’s good for a vacation but most of the time I don’t mind using it. I don’t mind going out and using the “hut” as we call it( a compost toilet in a small tin building). We have running water (5 gallon water jugs with a hand pump) showers are located at planet fitness,
I used to be able to tell you what was on TV on any given night, now I rarely watch TV. We tend to spend evenings sitting outside, our TV is the sunset. We spend more time with other people, then we did when we lived in town. In town we didn’t know our neighbors. Here we hang out, help, check in on all our neighbors, we are a family.
Living out here is hard, it will test you, it’s not for the faint of heart. There’s been times we’ve thought about quitting, but in the end we love it.
Come see Dirty Brown Jug Band with JAFO Productions on sound and lights at the Haunted Hell Ride and After Party held on Friday October 21st. Gates open for Hay Ride at 6 Pm followed by the After Party 10 PM.
A couple of weeks ago Brent, Anne and I had gone and stayed at an RV park in Albuquerque. While sitting outside some other RVs commented on how pretty the views are there. We realized then that we are spoiled as we had just complained that there wasn’t much for views. Here are some of our views up here on the mesa.
You are welcome to come enjoy the views yourself by coming to one of the events, or camping. Visit our website for more information.
Haunted Hell Ride October 21 Gates open 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Early Bird tickets go on sale Sept 5th
A night of scares and mysteries. The Haunted Hell hay ride is not appropriate for all ages. If you have any health concerns we ask that you refrain from going.
Not a lot has been going on, it’s a cooler day today with a nice southern breeze that flows through the open windows of the RV making it feel as if we have air conditioning.
Here Plateau Hame De Colquhoun we have some exciting events coming up. @Haunted Hay Hell Ride, @Haunted Hell Ride & After Party With Dirty Brown Jug Band , and a private event.
Enjoy the video of us driving to the neighbors to help them with a task. These are the main roads out here.

July was a quiet month We had few campers, we got a break from the desert and went to Phoenix for a concert, then took the RV and stayed at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post . It was a nice park, but more crowded than we cared for. It had a pool and hot tub that we took advantage of.
Now we are back home and working on the next bigger events. Haunted Hay (Hell) Ride we are looking for volunteers for actors, drivers, attendants. With an after-party for all participants free camping.
Practice dates times to be determined.
2 in September after Labor Day, 2 in October before 21st. Contact us if you’re interested.
We also have a few private events and a couple trips we are getting ready for!!
