Second full day home, since we were lazy yesterday and just did few small things.. Today we got the 3500 watt solar setup (one the controller went out and overcharged the batteries) back up and running. We have electricity! Though limited no a/c, can’t run fridge on it nor washer/dryer.
We are hoping to start on the big solar setup it’s a 8 k is 48v with 16 200 watt panels and 12 200 ah batteries. Our 3500 watt is 24v has 6 195 watt panels with 2 100 ah batteries..
Now that the 3500 w solar is back up.. It’s time to wait out upcoming storm!
We’ve been having phone and camera issues, which had been making it hard to release videos and post pictures. We are working on a solution and hopefully this issue will be resolved soon!
Update on our adventure! We are in MN and will be enjoying our time with friends and family for another week, before heading back. Once back we are hoping to jump into building the new solar (will positive thoughts that the price of lumber will be lower)! We already have campers (#plateauhamedecolquhoun)booked for August (only a few spots left!) and looking forward to get back into the role of our modern Pioneerism!!! #modernpioneerism #artoftinyliving
Dog life it’s ruff- Dreugan is growing up fast he is 22 weeks old 48 lbs. The last couple days his one ear decide to be floppy. So will they both become floppy or just the one? Maybe one side is the Rottweiler and other the husky? Let us know your thoughts?
Sitting here this morning listening to the wind hit the RV, wishing we had electricity to charge up our devices, watch TV. Yes we can run the generator and do all that. But that also means a noisy generator and using gasoline. But it’d also mean missing the sound of the wind blowing, or even sound of Dreugan at my feet snoring.
Soon we will have the new solar built, set up and it’s big enough to run the RV and Brent’s studio. Which means we can finally get Brent’s stuff out of storage and get the container set up. Then hopefully for the first time since we started this adventure on the West mesa ( or as we call it “Plateau Hame De Colquhoun”) we can feel at home.
Don’t get me wrong we are home, we love it here. But a huge part has been missing and it’s been in storage.
Was a nice day out! We are now back in the waiting game for the next stage of our adventures. If you’re like me you hate waiting! What are some of the things you do while you’re waiting? As you can see Dreugan is enjoying waiting..

First time raising a puppy in a RV.. Issue one we have no room for a crate inside. Especially one that he will grow into.. I had put a clothes basket at the end of the bed then covered it, so he could sleep there at night.. He stayed first 2 hours, he now sleeps next to my pillow. It’s Okay for now, but when he’s grown and 100 lbs it’s not going to work…
