I try to post something everyday. But that can be hard to do especially since we haven’t been doing much here other than trying to stay cool. I have got most of the website updated, logos made for the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride . I still need to make fliers.

We did get the opportunity to go see Steve Vai in Concert on Thursday. It was a awesome concert and now one of my favorites. The video is a few clips of the concert. Hope you enjoy!

West Mesa Haunted Hayride Videos

July 20, 2023 Ka-Hoon Campground

We made it through another hot day without AC. These heat has messed with our moods some. We used damp towels for the dogs to help keep them cool, but recently we started misting them with water. They seem to enjoy it and fall right to sleep. We work at keeping them in off the hot sand and laying in front of the fans has became their as ours favorite spots.

We been making short videos for the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride in October. Here are the 3 that us and the neighbor created. Let us know which one is your favorite and why.

Another Day at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun

July 19, 2023 Ka-Hoon Campground

These 120 degree days are getting to us. We did break down yesterday, started up the generator and ran the AC a few hours.

Last night after it cool down some, we were able to have a nice fire and hang out with a few of the campers. We really enjoy hanging out and chatting with campers to hear where they are heading and coming from.

Not much going on around here, we have the Saturday August 19 camping and Movie Night
And the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride coming in October!

West Mesa Haunted Hayride

Get your fright on, Friday and Saturday, October 20 and 21, for two nights of Hayrides, each night different from the other.

There will be music both nights and a Saturday show with ” Advocatus Diaboli”

Viewers Discretion Advised This hay ride and show are not appropriate for all ages, adult language, content, violence.
Attendees under age 16 Not recommended.

We have been working hard planning and organizing the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride ! Two (2) nights of scares, both nights different!

July Camping and Movie Night

July 13, 2023 Ka-Hoon Campground

We are only 2 days away from July Camping and Movie Night ! Come sit in the middle of the desert, under the stars and watch “Renfeild” . The movie is free to watch. Free parking is available.

If you’d like to camp, or park closer (VIP Parking) reserve your campsites or parking by visiting our website!

Movie starts at Dusk, gates open 2 hours before. All that reserve a campsite or parking gates open at noon, we ask that campers arrive before the start of the movie.

What to bring:

Lawn chairs
Snacks
Drinks alcohol and non.
Bud

BBQing is allowed (at your campsites or parking spot) until the movie starts.

** Renfeild is rated R viewer discretion is advised **

Views of Storms in the Valleys around the Mesa

One of the cool things about living on a Mesa and having Valleys on 3 sides is seeing the changes in weather. We can have storms and simultaneously sunshine, or even what may look like a tidal wave where no ocean has existed for a very long time.
Must be the land of enchantment.

Heat, Heat, and more Heat

July 12, 2023 Ka-Hoon Campground

Heat, heat and more heat. With Temps up onto the 100s and no air conditioning we tend to stay quiet on front of the fans or go into town in AC car. But we haven’t been getting much done here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun . We do have a neighbor that works at night, and sleeps during the day. This is fine and dandy for some, but I like a good sleep, and rather sleep when it’s cooler.

We do work on a few things in the evenings once it starts to cool down. But dealing with the heat makes us exhausted and grumpy.

To help keep the dogs cool we us cooling towels, or a damp towel. With fans blowing, and the towels the dogs they lay around and sleep. But they are ready to go out and play early mornings and in the evenings when it’s cooler.

I’d rather deal with this heat and cooler nights then the cold Minnesota winters.
