New Mexico claims they have 300 days of sunlight. Well I think we are doing the 65 days now.
It’s a cloudy sleety Thursday morning. I love hearing the rain hitting the top of the RV. It rained all night, so we figure the roads are all indicated, we had no plans on going anywhere anyways.
Bryandt made it in last night, since we can’t do much we’ll probably enjoy some family time and play some games, watch movies on our phones. Can you really ask for much more?
Enjoy the video of our drive home yesterday Wednesday evening while listening to Amigo The Devil !
Happy Tuesday Dec. 12! It was a little warmer last night. 43 inside this morning before starting the heat.
The oldest son Bryandt is coming here in a few days to spend the holidays with us, it’s been years since we’ve had us all together for the holiday. It will be nice having us all together.
Coming from a bigger family holidays were always busy and full of people. I do wish everyone could come, but we all will be together in our thoughts and probably a video call.
December 24th is my Mother’s Linda Rone birthday, her and Dad’s 50th Anniversary! Please stop by their page and wish them Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary!! They both could use a pick me up as Dad is in the hospital due to Pneumonia. Love you both!!

Cold Monday morning 21 degrees out. Woke up to 35 inside temps, I got the heater going and its warming up nicely in here. Waiting on the coffee to percolate and then we’ll be set for starting a new day. I’m not sure what the plans are today. Sometime this week we need to start moving items around and get the spot setup for the Happy HORRORDAZE “Axe-Travaganza” on Saturday!!
Watch the live stream right from the comfort of your home! Drink, enjoy your 420 and listen to Advocatus Diaboli and Shamshini! Starts at 3 pm MST.

Yesterday Friday morning started out nice, we planned to mow and start cleaning on the 10 acres. But as soon as we went outside a 40 mph wind hit, blow off a heavy tarp (actually is a big pool cover) we had spread out to dry off to be folded up and put into storage. The tarp took out a few poles along the way. We rushed and got the tarp secured, (thank you Advocatus Diaboli for helping!) couldn’t fold it due to the winds. The high winds stayed until into the evening. Which meant we got nothing we had planned to do done.
Today, it probably won’t be as windy. But we have errands to run to get things ready for a private event tomorrow.
This is why it takes us forever to get anything done.. But the dogs got some playtime before the winds hit!

We had something come up recently, due to that situation I’d like to share a little bit of my story.
I lived outside a little town called Browerville in Minnesota. I grew up poor, and we didn’t have much. Due to this, I was bullied my whole time in school. Called names, kicked, hit, spit on, told i was stupid, told I was so fat couldn’t fit through a door, or chair, stunk, they made sounds and act as if the floor was shaking when I walk down the hall. I shut down, quit talking, taking care of myself, as there was nothing I could do that made it better, no matter how hard I tried.
To this day, it still affects me (I’m crying just writing this), and I still hear those same people saying those things to me. It has taken me a long time to realize they were wrong. Wrong for doing that, wrong about who I am.
Moving out here in the middle of the desert, living off-grid in the West. Where law is very limited. I have learned to stand up for myself, that money, material things, beliefs, sexuality mean nothing. What is important is respect.
Respect people for who they are, let them make their own choices without ridicule. To live how they choose to live.
Sunny Saturday Dec 2 morning. I am a member of a few RV groups, so many times in those groups I read about Rvers traveling across country and trying to find routes around New Mexico due to their fears of crime here. It’s sad really as New Mexico is beautiful, and full of so much history! There are many safe places to stay, and see.
The reputation of the state (some based in unfortunate truth) is shocking, while others just ignore the SW or believe we are south of the boarder.
Coming to our land can be a little unnerving for sure as it’s so desolate (15 miles from town) but don’t let it or the news intimidate you. It’s really glorious.

Chilly Thursday morning.. I did take advantage of yesterday’s cloudy, windy day and made some more sage sticks. I got about 1/2 lb of sage done. I’m hoping to replenish enough to add the sage back into the Dusty Nail General Store . We also give each camper one sage stick in their welcome packet.
When we lived in Minnesota we used to harvest the sage ourselves and roll it. While I was visiting MN Sept 2022 I harvested and brought some back with me. But have used all that up and now rolling what a friend had harvested for us. (First time rolling something I didn’t harvest and dry myself)
Each sage stick is the size of a cigarette, with hemp string.
Sage has many benefits its good for killing airborne bacteria, helps control mosquitoes and other insects. Known for cleansing and area of negative energy.
