In an ever changing world, remain a constant. Let everyone and everything that desires you to be different fall and wither away. Remain steadfast in your own uniqueness, for you and nature are the only ones leading their own destiny.

Yesterday, the weather started with sunshine, but it quickly turned cloudy and even had some rain.
Living offgrid in the New Mexico desert, rain is a cherished blessing that we eagerly await. It is a rare and precious commodity that we do not take for granted. Often, we find ourselves gazing at the storm clouds, wondering if we will finally get to feel the rain pour down on us. It is a beautiful spectacle to behold, as the thunder rumbles and the lightning strikes, but it is also a reminder of the power and unpredictability of nature. Even though most often we watch the storms go around us, we still hold onto the hope that one day, the rain will come and quench our parched land.

Brent and I created this image many years ago. I totally agree nothing in life is Black and White. We all judge, don’t let that judgement influence how you treat others.
Be yourself by respecting yourself and others.
Be what you want to be not what someone else wants you to be.

A day in the life while living offgrid in the New Mexico desert. Ka-hoon Campground and Event Center of Plateau hame de Colquhoun http://www.plateauhamedecolquhoun.com
One of the hardest parts of living offgrid in the New Mexico deserts is dealing with the winds. We don’t have any natural protection from the winds. With limited water, poor soil for growing trees, and shrubs is hard. We do have plans for planting but not ready due to having to haul water. Many people have questioned us about the steps and the Hut and the Dusty Nail General Store. These straps are to secure them during the winds. We have had the wind blow both little buildings over and move them across the yard. We’ve had a full sheet 4×8 ft OSB get air born and fly well over 200 feet. Spring is usually the worst for the winds. We tend to stay inside (unless you like the taste of sand, and it is invading places it shouldn’t) myself, my sinuses swell up. It can be deceiving as it’s sunny, warm, and looks very inviting to just hang outside.
