🔥 Raking the Desert for Magic! Preparing the Sand for Our Rangoli of Intentions đźŚ™

Preparing the Desert for the Rangoli: Raking the Ground for Our Night of Intentions

As we prepare for our **Rangoli celebration on November 1st** at **Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center**, the desert is becoming our canvas. This night is all about **manifesting goals, intentions, and personal transformation** beneath the wide New Mexico sky.

Instead of using chalk or powders, we’ll be **drawing directly into the sand**—letting the natural earth guide our designs. Each participant will create their own **Rangoli of Intentions**, using simple tools or even their hands to carve symbols that represent what they want to attract, release, or change in their lives.

To prepare, we’ve begun our **first raking of the ground**, softening and smoothing the desert floor so it’s ready for creation. The process itself feels symbolic—clearing away the old to make space for new energy.

When the Rangolis are complete, we’ll gather around the **bonfire**, dance, and celebrate the intentions we’ve set together. The night will blend **art, energy, and community**, bringing light and purpose to the desert sands.

Join us for this one-of-a-kind off-grid experience—where the earth itself becomes the medium for manifestation.

From Stroke to Stage: Advocatus Diaboli Returns for Open Mic Night in the Desert!

Back at It: Open Mic Night with Advocatus Diaboli – May 25th at Ka-Hoon Campground

It’s been a challenging journey, but Brent—also known as **Advocatus Diaboli**—is on the road to recovery. Following his stroke, each day brings a little more strength, a bit more movement, and renewed energy. While he’s still healing and tires easily, he’s determined to reconnect with the music and community that bring him to life.

In celebration of his progress and the desire to get back to doing what we love, **we’re hosting an Open Mic Night on Sunday, May 25th** at **Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center** in the New Mexico desert.

This event is **free to attend**, with **camping available at just \$12 per night** (up to 5 people per site). Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just want to relax under the desert stars and listen, all are welcome.

**Can’t make it in person?** No problem! We’ll be livestreaming the event on our **TikTok channel (@ColquhounEntertainment)** so you can watch, support, or even join in remotely.

This is more than just an open mic—it’s a moment to reconnect, celebrate resilience, and support local artists. Brent may not be 100%, but his passion for music and community is stronger than ever.

**Join us May 25th for music, connection, and healing—live from the heart of the desert.**

Just 2 Days After Stroke Surgery… He Sings Again – You Won’t Believe This Comeback!

Rising from the Ashes – A Week of Strength, Music, and Miracles**

This past week has been one of the hardest we’ve ever faced here at Ka-Hoon Campground & Colquhoun Entertainment. On Monday, our own Advocatus Diaboli suffered a subcortical stroke—unexpected, frightening, and life-altering. The days that followed were filled with uncertainty, hospital visits, and prayer. By Friday, he was in surgery to repair the artery causing the damage.

Doctors weren’t sure what the outcome would be. They even warned us he might not be able to sing again. But if you know Advocatus Diaboli, you know he doesn’t give up easily.

Just two days after surgery, he defied the odds—he sang again. Not at full strength yet, but close. And if you watch the video, you’ll see the fire is still there.

This isn’t just a story about music—it’s about grit, healing, and the power of community. We’re beyond grateful for those who’ve stood by us, sent love, and kept the music alive.

The desert can be quiet, but strength grows in the silence. We’re still here, still singing.

**Shamshini’s Solo Debut & St. Patrick’s Celebration at Mini Red Velvet Underground**

Brent (aka Advocatus Diaboli ) and I ( Melodie , moderator—or whatever Advocatus decides to call me) have been battling a stubborn cold. Thankfully, we’ve tested negative for flu and COVID, but that didn’t stop Advocatus from pushing through when he was supposed to rest his voice.

Since he was *supposed* to take the night off from singing, Shamshini stepped up for her first solo live rehearsal—and she did great! It was a fun and unique experience, though, of course, Advocatus Diaboli just couldn’t resist joining in.

Now, we’re gearing up for an epic night of music, mayhem, and St. Patrick’s Day vibes! You’re invited to experience the magic of ** Advocatus Diaboli, Shamshini, and the animatronic band**—**Spliff on bass, Roach on drums, and Blunt on keyboards**—live at **Mini Red Velvet Underground in Albuquerque**.

Halloween Hootenanny & Dance of the Dead: Live Performances by Advocatus Diaboli & Grim Leafer Band!

Yesterday, we took the day off and relaxed by watching football with our neighbors. After dropping Anne off at work, we enjoyed some downtime, caught a few games, and did a few small tasks around the house. It was a nice break, especially after the excitement of Saturday’s Music in the Desert Talent Show and Karaoke.

This week is going to be busy with appointments and Anne’s work schedule. We also have to take care of a few things, like putting new brakes on the car. Most importantly, we’ll be spending a lot of time rehearsing, as ** Advocatus Diaboli and the Grim Leafer Band  ** has some upcoming shows! We’ve got a few new songs to introduce, and we’re fine-tuning all the new conversions we’ve made. During Saturday’s show, we found an error in one of the songs, but it ended up being a funny moment. We’ll definitely be fixing that one—but we might just keep the mixed-up version for laughs!

**Upcoming Performances for Advocatus Diaboli **:
– **Saturday**: Halloween Hootenanny at Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center
– **November 1st**: Halloween Dance of the Dead at Red Gorilla Studios

Creepy Crawl Trick-or-Treating at Ka-Hoon Campground’s Halloween Hootenanny: Fun for All Ages!

**Creepy Crawl Trick-or-Treating Ideas for the Halloween Hootenanny**

The Halloween Hootenanny is just around the corner, and with it comes our favorite spooky event—the Creepy Crawl trick-or-treating! This unique experience lets campers go from site to site collecting treats, and it’s a fun way to get everyone involved in the Halloween spirit.

Here are a few treat ideas to make your campsite stand out during the Creepy Crawl:

– **Cupcakes:** Easy to make and decorate with spooky themes like ghosts, spiders, or pumpkins. Cupcakes are a great option for both kids and adults.

– **Classic Candy:** You can’t go wrong with the tried-and-true. Stock up on your favorite candies for a guaranteed hit.

– **Glow Sticks:** A fun and safe treat, especially for kids. They can double as safety accessories when it gets dark.

– **Mixed Drinks & Punches:** For the adults, why not prepare some festive Halloween-themed beverages? Just be sure to check armbands to verify age before serving.

– **Gummies:** From classic gummy bears to Halloween-themed shapes, these treats are always a crowd-pleaser.

**Important Reminder:** The Creepy Crawl is for all ages! While “adult” treats like alcoholic beverages or 420 goodies are welcome, it’s crucial to ensure you’re giving them only to those who are of legal age. Always check armbands to avoid any mix-ups. Also, please be mindful of those who do not consume alcohol or 420. Respect everyone’s choice, and remember that “no” means “no.”

**New Service Considerations:**

We’re also exploring the idea of offering a shuttle service for campers, either to pick up Walmart orders or to drive individuals into town. This would make it more convenient for those who need to run errands or grab supplies. However, we haven’t made a final decision on whether this service will be feasible or necessary. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this! Would you find a shuttle service helpful during your stay at Ka-Hoon Campground? Let us know!

Get ready for a night of spooky fun, delicious treats, and memorable moments at the Halloween Hootenanny!

Prepare for the Ultimate Halloween Hootenanny at Ka-Hoon Campground!

**Get Ready for the Halloween Hootenanny at Ka-Hoon Campground!**

The Halloween Hootenanny is just around the corner, and it’s time to start planning how you’ll make your campsite stand out during this spooktacular event! Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

### 1. **Spooky Campsite Decorations**
If you’re looking to give your campsite a hauntingly festive makeover, consider adding some of these elements:
– **Pumpkin Lanterns**: Carve out pumpkins and place LED lights inside to create a spooky glow around your site.
– **Cobwebs and Spiders**: String up faux cobwebs and scatter plastic spiders around your tent or RV to add a creepy touch.
– **Ghostly Figures**: Create ghost decorations using white sheets or fabric and hang them from trees or poles for a floating effect.
– **Graveyard Scene**: Make your own DIY tombstones out of cardboard or foam and set up a mini graveyard at your site.

### 2. **Simple Lighting for a Welcoming Glow**
If you prefer not to go all out with decorations but still want to participate in the fun, just adding some lighting can make a big difference:
– **String Lights**: Hang up orange or purple string lights around your campsite to add a festive atmosphere.
– **Lanterns**: Use lanterns to light up your space, creating a warm and inviting glow for trick-or-treaters.
– **Glow Sticks**: Place glow sticks in jars or hang them around your campsite for an easy, low-maintenance way to add some Halloween spirit.

### 3. **Creepy Crawl: A Trick-or-Treat Adventure**
Remember, our Creepy Crawl trick-or-treating event is for both adults and children, so feel free to get creative with your treats! If you plan to hand out “adult” treats (like spiked cider or special candies), please check arm bands to ensure no one underage receives them.

### **Important Schedule Update**
We’ve moved the **Costume Contest** to the same night as the Creepy Crawl! This way, everyone can enjoy a full evening of costumes, treats, and Halloween fun. So start planning your costumes now—whether you’re going for spooky, funny, or creative, we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

For more details on the event and camping reservations, be sure to check out our website. Get ready for a hauntingly good time at the Halloween Hootenanny!
