Happy Wednesday, October 4th.. is everyone ready for the end of the world today? We read that many people are wrapping their phones and other electronic devices in aluminum foil, etc, to protect themselves..
We aren’t doing anything special.. I guess if we become zombies we’ll starve as not many brains out here to eat.. and we won’t need costumes for the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride !!

Yesterday, Brent, a couple of our friends and I went to a fall festival at a brewery in Albuquerque. During the festival they had a hat contest.. Brent got 1st place, as his prize he got flowers and few gift cards, one we used on the way home for a nice meal. Brent gave me the flowers before he ate them.. But it was a great festival and we got to meet some wonderful people!

Not much has been going on here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun . We been working on getting things ready for the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride . We were hoping not to have to mow, but it does seem we will be mowing at least the common areas. Mowing the desert is so much different than what I mowed in Minnesota. You will get covered in sand, the ground is rough. The winds blow the sand away and leaves humps were the grass are. Since the rain we now have tons of goatheads. We were pulling them out, but there way to many to do that.. So this year we’ve lost the battle, but haven’t quit pulling killing as many as we can. We’ve been researching ways to get rid of them. WITHOUT harsh chemicals.
We’ve been told the best way is to smother them out by planting grass. Well we lack the water for grass?
So idk well keep researching and looking cause we hate goatheads!!!!

Mysteries of the West Mesa “Ancient and Modern Magic”
We were told that the Mesa is a very sacred place, with ancient temples and magic.
In the 90s, a group of scientists chose 3 locations around the planet to do what we been told is like an “acupuncture” to help heal the planet.
The locations were very strategically chosen.
We were told the scientists chose this area of the West Mesa due to the ancient temples and magic, and the only place in the USA chosen for this “acupuncture procedure.”
The scientists drilled a huge hole into the planet surface and filled it with healing stones.
it’s said that this hole filled with stones and the ancient magic of the mesa helps give the planet energy to help heal.
what do you think? Is this to help the planet? is this the cause for the mysteries we have experienced?
* West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride 2 nights of music, terror, bonfires, hayrides , laughter!*

Advocatus Diaboli and the Grim Leafer Band confirmed their flight. They will be here Friday morning October 20 and staying until Sunday, so you may or may not see them hanging out during the Friday Hayride.
We had seen Advocatus Diaboli performance a few times and loved it. We thought they’d be perfect to come play the West Mesa Haunted Hayride After Party. We never thought they would agree to do it, but we tried anyways.
We told them we are new and only on our second year, so we are not sure of the attendance. But they did not hesitate and told us, we’d be a great place to make a change in their performance by allowing recording devices!!
Advocatus Diaboli is one of my favorites bands along with Red Mesa Tuatha Dea Amigo The Devil. I don’t just love their music, I love their personalities off the stage, their passion in their music, and how much they love doing what they are doing.
Advocatus Diaboli and the Grim Leafer Band plays a combination of music from classical rock to country and everything in between. If you like a good laugh and some good music this is a must see show!!
I wish I could tell you more. But this Bands career had been about keeping who they are and what they do as a secret. But they are changing some of that!!
The dogs enjoying their new fenced in area.. It’s nice they get their own play area and Dreugan doesn’t have to be tied. During the Camping and Movie Night last night they all stayed out and played and enjoyed the night.
This is only a temporary position, we will be moving the RV and fence to give us and the dogs more privacy, during events and campers stays.
Now that Weillow is older (almost 14 yrs old) and losing her sight she has gotten picky about strange dogs, so to have some separation would be beneficial for her.
