July Camping and Movie Night

July 13, 2023 Ka-Hoon Campground

We are only 2 days away from July Camping and Movie Night ! Come sit in the middle of the desert, under the stars and watch “Renfeild” . The movie is free to watch. Free parking is available.

If you’d like to camp, or park closer (VIP Parking) reserve your campsites or parking by visiting our website!

Movie starts at Dusk, gates open 2 hours before. All that reserve a campsite or parking gates open at noon, we ask that campers arrive before the start of the movie.

What to bring:

Lawn chairs
Snacks
Drinks alcohol and non.
Bud

BBQing is allowed (at your campsites or parking spot) until the movie starts.

** Renfeild is rated R viewer discretion is advised **

We also have the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride coming up in October.

The Hayride and After Party are Rated R and may not not appropriate for all ages. (Viewer Discretion is advised )Violence, sexual content, strong language. More information can be found on the website!

Views of Storms in the Valleys around the Mesa

One of the cool things about living on a Mesa and having Valleys on 3 sides is seeing the changes in weather. We can have storms and simultaneously sunshine, or even what may look like a tidal wave where no ocean has existed for a very long time.
Must be the land of enchantment.

Heat, Heat, and more Heat

July 12, 2023 Ka-Hoon Campground

Heat, heat and more heat. With Temps up onto the 100s and no air conditioning we tend to stay quiet on front of the fans or go into town in AC car. But we haven’t been getting much done here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun . We do have a neighbor that works at night, and sleeps during the day. This is fine and dandy for some, but I like a good sleep, and rather sleep when it’s cooler.

We do work on a few things in the evenings once it starts to cool down. But dealing with the heat makes us exhausted and grumpy.

To help keep the dogs cool we us cooling towels, or a damp towel. With fans blowing, and the towels the dogs they lay around and sleep. But they are ready to go out and play early mornings and in the evenings when it’s cooler.

I’d rather deal with this heat and cooler nights then the cold Minnesota winters.

Star Gazing at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun!

Only 5 more days until the July Camping and Movie Night we’ll be watching Renfeild. The movie is free to watch, free parking available.

Campsites and VIP parking can be reserved through our website!

Like a good scare, or like to scare others? Make sure to attend the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride 2 nights of scares, entertainment, bonfire. Camping is available for one or both nights. Each night is a different Hayride. Advocatus Diaboli will be performing Saturday night.

The West Mesa Haunted Hayride isn’t appropriate for all ages. Adult content, violence, adult language

Camping and Movie Nights at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun

July Camping and Movie Night is a week away!!

Right now here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun we have Camping and Movie Nights once a month.

The movie is free for all to watch, there is free parking available. The parking lot is a little hike to where the movie is played.

You can reserve a VIP Parking spot(a short walk) and Campsite by visiting our website below.

University of New Mexico (Ziamet Weather Program)

July 7, 2023 Ka-Hoon Campground

The Ziamet Weather station tower is up. Next the University Of New Mexico will be out to install everything on the tower. Our understanding is that it tracts temps, humidity, dew points, barometric, wind speed/directions, rain, ground temp and moisture and I think it tracks seismic activities.

We are not sure what Ziamet Weather program is using the data collected for.

One thing for sure we look forward to having some weather information on this end of the mesa. Since the mesa on this end is narrow about 2 miles across and valleys on 3 sides our weather (Temps, winds, precipitation) tends to be different from what we get on weather apps.

We do have a small weather station for ourselves, it works rather well, but not always the most accurate.

Fireworks and Moonrise from behind the Manzanos Mountains

July 5, 2023 Ka-Hoon Campground

Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful 4th of July.

We did, a bunch of the neighbors came, we had a BBQ and went to the other end of the Mesa that overlooked at least 6 towns and watched a beautiful moonrise from behind the Manzanos mountains and Fireworks from individuals to the cities shooting fireworks off. It was the best show I have ever seen, city lights, fireworks going off all over. Well worth the short travel to see!

JAFO Productions the music side of Plateau Hame De Colquhoun by Bosque New Mexico

All of us here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun wish everyone a safe and wonderful 4th of July!

Today we’d like to talk about the Music Production side of Plateau Hame De Colquhoun.

Here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun we have a full music production with up to 40,000 watts of PA, and soon a Music Studio (we are in the process of setting it up), stage trussing and lighting all working under the name of JAFO Productions!

Brent the owner of Plateau Hame De Colquhoun and JAFO Productions is a vocalist who has toured internationally and has helped with music projects for big corporations such as Disney. He has run sound and lights for over 30 years , for a variety of bands and music conferences.

Camper Submitted Photos while Camping here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun

It seems empty and quiet here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun after a weekend full of campers. We love seeing campers enjoying themselves out here. We have a private event tomorrow, then have a few days to relax before we have new campers booked to come in.

We look forward to seeing everyone during the July Camping and Movie Night on Saturday the 15th.
