Well yesterday we did a thing… We went and got all the lumber to build the solar we’ve been putting off (didn’t want to spend the money), we will also be fixing all the stairs (Green room, Battery house and to the studio). And putting up some fencing off the RV for the dogs.
The new solar will only be for the Beast (Our RV) and the shower. Which leaves the big solar for the studio, Greenroom and a few other things.
Days are getting cooler, which means it’s time to get a few projects done that we keep putting off.

Friday September 22 will be the next Camping and Movie Night we’ll be playing the movie “It”. The movie is free to watch. Camping is available visit the website to book your campsites.
This will be the last event to purchase in person registration for the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride !
The West Mesa Haunted Hayride is a 2 night event. Friday October 20th will be Haunted Hayride, bonfire, Halloween music. Cone for the Hayride or come camp one or both nights!!
Saturday October 21 have a night of bonfires, food vendor 1pm to 3 pm, Haunted Hayride different than the Friday Hayride!! With After Party proformance by Advocatus Diaboli!!

It’s Wednesday and we have no electricity. It went out about 1 this morning. We figured it was going to happen as Monday it got cloudy towards the end of the day. Monday night we stayed longer in the Studio than we had planned.
Don’t worry we didn’t deplete the batteries, our system is setup to shut down when the batteries get to 50%. If we had electricity, or generator hooked up to the inverter, the inverter would auto switch to them when the batteries. We do have a genny that will run it, but doesn’t have to auto start that is needed.
The inverter auto starts when the batteries are fully charged. Which since today is still pretty cloudy we didn’t know if we’d get enough charge. But to our surprise as I’m writing this the power comes back on.

Rainy Tuesday here at Plateau Hame De Colquhoun . The 70 degree day is nice. But the no sunshine, tomorrow is supposed to another cloudy day. Which means we need to limit the electric usage. No fans, tvs, music in the Studio. We can start a generator if we really wanted to, but we are cheap and don’t want to use the gas.
We have been working on getting everything setup and ready for the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride !! The Hayride, and After Party proformance by Advocatus Diaboli is going to be awesome, we are so excited for it!!!
Advocatus Diaboli contacted us today to go over a few final details. This will be his first of hopefully many shows in New Mexico!!

September Camping and Movie Night last night had a great turnout with almost a dozen people. Due to the threat of rain, we were postponed for a time and given the attendees a vote on watching a movie, or just hanging out around the firepit. It was decided by all that we’d hangout as it fit into some guests time schedule.
The next movie night will be held Friday September 22. The movie will be “It”. During this Camping and Movie Night will be announcing the winners for any online giveaways for the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride !

Good Saturday morning. Sorry I haven’t posted much about ourselves. We’ve been busy getting ready for the West Mesa Haunted Hay Ride . Along with a few other projects! Still dealing with heat over 100 days and the cattle keep coming through and knocking over our lights. I think they are making it a game…So yesterday I went out and fixed them all, fingers crossed they are still up.
I will be making another Mysteries of the West Mesa today, of something all of us experienced last night. Though like normal we didn’t get photos or videos.
The September Camping and Movie Night is tonight. The last movie night had a nice turnout, We are hoping for more tonight, but only time will tell!
I am very excited that Advocatus Diaboli and the Grim Leafer has agreed to come play the Haunted Hayride. We’ve seen the show a few times and have always loved it, some great laughs, music and more. Advocatus Diaboli usually does not allow cell phones, or Any recording device, but he is here!!
