Yesterday, we took the day off and relaxed by watching football with our neighbors. After dropping Anne off at work, we enjoyed some downtime, caught a few games, and did a few small tasks around the house. It was a nice break, especially after the excitement of Saturday’s Music in the Desert Talent Show and Karaoke.
This week is going to be busy with appointments and Anne’s work schedule. We also have to take care of a few things, like putting new brakes on the car. Most importantly, we’ll be spending a lot of time rehearsing, as ** Advocatus Diaboli and the Grim Leafer Band ** has some upcoming shows! We’ve got a few new songs to introduce, and we’re fine-tuning all the new conversions we’ve made. During Saturday’s show, we found an error in one of the songs, but it ended up being a funny moment. We’ll definitely be fixing that one—but we might just keep the mixed-up version for laughs!
**Upcoming Performances for Advocatus Diaboli **:
– **Saturday**: Halloween Hootenanny at Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center
– **November 1st**: Halloween Dance of the Dead at Red Gorilla Studios

Music in the Desert Talent Show & Karaoke – Camp, Sing, and Enjoy a Night of Fun in the Desert!
I’ve been down with some stomach issues the last couple of days. It’s slowly getting better, but I haven’t felt up to doing much.
This weekend, we’re gearing up for the Music in the Desert Talent Show and Karaoke, which should be a great time for everyone.
Before this, we were busy working in the studio, rewriting and organizing songs for the Advocatus Diaboli and the Grim Leafer Band show. We’ve made some good progress, but there’s still more to do. The work we’re putting in will make it much easier to set up and run the music during the performance.
We also had a nice week of campers coming in and even sold some registrations for the Halloween Hootenanny! It’s going to be 4 days of fun and activities in the New Mexico desert, with music, Creepy Crawl campsite-to-campsite trick-or-treating, and more.

Creepy Crawl Trick-or-Treating at Ka-Hoon Campground’s Halloween Hootenanny: Fun for All Ages!
**Creepy Crawl Trick-or-Treating Ideas for the Halloween Hootenanny**
The Halloween Hootenanny is just around the corner, and with it comes our favorite spooky event—the Creepy Crawl trick-or-treating! This unique experience lets campers go from site to site collecting treats, and it’s a fun way to get everyone involved in the Halloween spirit.
Here are a few treat ideas to make your campsite stand out during the Creepy Crawl:
– **Cupcakes:** Easy to make and decorate with spooky themes like ghosts, spiders, or pumpkins. Cupcakes are a great option for both kids and adults.
– **Classic Candy:** You can’t go wrong with the tried-and-true. Stock up on your favorite candies for a guaranteed hit.
– **Glow Sticks:** A fun and safe treat, especially for kids. They can double as safety accessories when it gets dark.
– **Mixed Drinks & Punches:** For the adults, why not prepare some festive Halloween-themed beverages? Just be sure to check armbands to verify age before serving.
– **Gummies:** From classic gummy bears to Halloween-themed shapes, these treats are always a crowd-pleaser.
**Important Reminder:** The Creepy Crawl is for all ages! While “adult” treats like alcoholic beverages or 420 goodies are welcome, it’s crucial to ensure you’re giving them only to those who are of legal age. Always check armbands to avoid any mix-ups. Also, please be mindful of those who do not consume alcohol or 420. Respect everyone’s choice, and remember that “no” means “no.”
**New Service Considerations:**
We’re also exploring the idea of offering a shuttle service for campers, either to pick up Walmart orders or to drive individuals into town. This would make it more convenient for those who need to run errands or grab supplies. However, we haven’t made a final decision on whether this service will be feasible or necessary. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this! Would you find a shuttle service helpful during your stay at Ka-Hoon Campground? Let us know!
Get ready for a night of spooky fun, delicious treats, and memorable moments at the Halloween Hootenanny!

Prepare for the Ultimate Halloween Hootenanny at Ka-Hoon Campground!
**Get Ready for the Halloween Hootenanny at Ka-Hoon Campground!**
The Halloween Hootenanny is just around the corner, and it’s time to start planning how you’ll make your campsite stand out during this spooktacular event! Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:
### 1. **Spooky Campsite Decorations**
If you’re looking to give your campsite a hauntingly festive makeover, consider adding some of these elements:
– **Pumpkin Lanterns**: Carve out pumpkins and place LED lights inside to create a spooky glow around your site.
– **Cobwebs and Spiders**: String up faux cobwebs and scatter plastic spiders around your tent or RV to add a creepy touch.
– **Ghostly Figures**: Create ghost decorations using white sheets or fabric and hang them from trees or poles for a floating effect.
– **Graveyard Scene**: Make your own DIY tombstones out of cardboard or foam and set up a mini graveyard at your site.
### 2. **Simple Lighting for a Welcoming Glow**
If you prefer not to go all out with decorations but still want to participate in the fun, just adding some lighting can make a big difference:
– **String Lights**: Hang up orange or purple string lights around your campsite to add a festive atmosphere.
– **Lanterns**: Use lanterns to light up your space, creating a warm and inviting glow for trick-or-treaters.
– **Glow Sticks**: Place glow sticks in jars or hang them around your campsite for an easy, low-maintenance way to add some Halloween spirit.
### 3. **Creepy Crawl: A Trick-or-Treat Adventure**
Remember, our Creepy Crawl trick-or-treating event is for both adults and children, so feel free to get creative with your treats! If you plan to hand out “adult” treats (like spiked cider or special candies), please check arm bands to ensure no one underage receives them.
### **Important Schedule Update**
We’ve moved the **Costume Contest** to the same night as the Creepy Crawl! This way, everyone can enjoy a full evening of costumes, treats, and Halloween fun. So start planning your costumes now—whether you’re going for spooky, funny, or creative, we can’t wait to see what you come up with!
