Spent a night sitting around the firepit! Worked on getting the batteries, inverter, controller all set up in the battery house. We need to make a run into Lowes or Home Depot to get few more items before we can hook everything up. It’s slowly getting close to being finished! Then onto the next project…

Where no man has lived before..
Living where no man has lived before, to build a homestead, live off grid has many challenges.. Not only dealing with nature but our own emotions and inner challenges.
We are slowly getting closer to have our home set up. Room for friends or family to come visit or just hang out. A place for Brent to complete his own or someone else’s music or festivals with bands. Brent has all equipment and lights to host bands or DJ for an event!
Though we have many projects we still would like to complete; Stage, deck, shower…

Solar build almost finished
The solar panels are mounted. Tomorrow we move the batteries and get them setup. This is the 8k system that will be powering the Music Studio/Library and the guest container. We have a small setup yet to build and move the smallest!

Taking a Break
We took a break from working on solar, and other projects at home Plateau Hame De Colquhoun and went on a short trip to help and visit with family, and friends in Ruidoso!
When ever we go on a trip we have a rule that at every overnight spot or attraction we go to we need to get something from there, that we place in our scrapbook of remembrance.

Overnight Parking at Walmart
We had one of our dually tires go flat on us on the Beast (Class A). We made an appointment at Big Os to get it fixed (Thinking something is wrong with the valvestem). Only time they had room was 9 in the morning (Due to our size, we take up most of their parking lot).
Not being a simple task to get the Beast through the Mesa roads, we decided to go the night before and dry dock at Walmart, like we’ve done a few times before.
We get into Walmart at 3 PM, find a parking spot and park. It’s cooler outside than inside the Rv so we all go outside sit, sitting on the steps, ground (No chairs). Security Guard drives pass us many times. 5 pm Brent and I go get something to eat to bring back from local restaurant, again the Security drives passed us walking. 7 PM we head into Walmart to get our much needed groceries all $150 worth of groceries and few other things. On our way out we see the Security guard and say hi to him.. It’s now 8:45 Sunday night most stores are closed. We’re sitting outside again to cool off after putting everything away. The Security guard stops and says “I have good news for you! We don’t allow overnight parking” Brent says “Oh we didn’t know as we’ve stayed before, only here cause we have a 9 am tire appointment” guard says ” we’re under new management, you must leave Bye Bye”, Then drives off. Why had he waited until now? Remind you it’s Sunday night, most places are closed, no truck stops near.
We head to Home Depot knowing I had called them in the past and asked if we could park overnight there and was told yes. It’s convenient as Big Os is pretty much in the parking lot. But it’s located in a much noisier location (Which is why we didn’t park there). Home Depot is closed so we have no way of asking, but we see a few trucks parked and hope we don’t get the middle of the night knock on the door, which we didn’t.
Issue with Walmart isn’t that they changed their rules, it’s why did they wait so late? The guard had many opportunities to talk to us, ask if we planned to stay overnight, been friendly about it. Weird they waited until after we spent money?

Rv life
A nice thing about living full time in a RV, is it’s possible to lay in your own bed and have different views and sounds. Could be street lights, stars, buildings, lake, trucks, other RVs, or sounds of coyotes, traffic, birds, trains to music playing from a store.

Night Off with Friends!
We took Labor day night off and had few friends over, Brent and Anne sang while us (mainly me) who can’t sing sat back and listened. We are getting closer to where Brent can sing almost every night like he used to! Soon, without having to run a generator to run the smaller system.

Trailers new location
New location of the trailer and temp location of the smaller solar system. We plan on putting the 3 300 gallon IBC totes in the trailer along with a well pump. Front part of the trailer will become home for the compost toilet. The silver hut next to the trailer will become a shower hut.
The solar setup is only here temporarily until the big setup is finished. Then it’ll get moved to it’s permanent location.
On side note we had a visitor, a preying mantis stopped in
