Hope everyone had a great Superbowl Sunday. We had planned on watching the game outside, but it’s windy, and chilly. We decided to watch the Superbowl inside the Greenroom. I can wrap up in a blanket out of the wind, we also can run a little heat later if need be. As soon as the neighbors show, cooking and game to start, it’ll warm up nicely in here.
It’s cloudy, and snowing. After cleaning the RV yesterday we decided to make a mess and do a little bit of baking and make a mess.
I’m still crocheting some merch for Advocatus Diaboli and for ourselves to go into the Dusty Nail General Store . I started out only making 4, but knowing me I keep finding different patterns i like and “have” to make. The one I’m working on now has been the most difficult. I’ve had to restart it multiple times.
If you’re anything like us, you like oddities, strange, unusual, unknown, dark, demented. You will enjoy the video.
For my and Anne birthdays, Brent surprised us and took us to see the Paranormal Cirque II in Albuquerque. We had seen the show during their last visit to Albuquerque and loved it. We had been watching to see when they be back. But it had looked like they weren’t going to be in the area or so Anne and I thought.
But yesterday on my birthday they were in Albuquerque. I don’t know how long ago Brent had purchased the tickets, but he kept it from us, until we pulled into the Cottonwood Mall and we seen the Paranormal cirque tents and liked up sign.
Not only did we get to go, but he got us 2 row (Isle) center stage seats!
I give it my 2nd best birthday gifts! I would had been best, but hard to beat, him giving me my furry kid Dreugan!
I would love to see Paranormal Cirque tents sitting out here at Ka-Hoon Plateau Hame De Colquhoun ! It’d be awesome to see those tents in the desert, with mountain views behind them. Sorry light side tracked. Anyways enjoy the video!!
While I lay here in bed listening and feeling the winds hit the Rv. I think back to when we first arrived here to the land.
We have achieved, learned more than I’ve ever thought we would.
Living offgrid out in the middle of the desert may be beautiful, can be peaceful. But mother nature reminds you why no one has lived out here before. It can be very hard, we have seen, tried to help many that have came out and failed.
We spent hours researching, asking few locals questions, trying to get as much info we could to prepare ourselves. But we found very little information about the part of the mesa we are at.
We were lucky, we both had experiences of living offgrid, in what could be harsh (but different) places. We knew winds were going to be bad, we tried to prepare, protect as much as possible.
Sure if we had enough money to build a structure the way we want, buy solar have it installed professionally we wouldn’t realize how harsh it can be. But we don’t have that type of money. But I also wouldn’t had learn or experience the true part of living out here.
Once in awhile we get campers that love their experience out here, but then drop our ratings due to the roads, and complain about them, acting as we didn’t let them know.
I don’t understand why they act surprise? We have in bright letters on the website, different platforms what the road is like. We have videos on Facebook, imInstragram, and even a few on Tikto oh and the one on the direction page (That we give to everyone that comes out)
The thing is there are plenty of places to stay right off major roads. Many are beautiful..
But if you want tranquility, breath taking views of mountains, skies, areas to hike, bring your ATV, horses, rock pick, let you dogs run a little. Or just sit in your RV, tent and watch the sunset/rise over the mountains, then you usually need to take some out of the way roads.
Weekend has gone by.. Like so many others the weekend doesn’t mean much to us. We have been fairly busy with campers this last week. Yesterday we celebrated both Anne and my birthdays, with a few of the neighbors.
Advocatus Diaboli and the Grim Leafer Band had asked me to make them a few more stuffed items for their merch table. Each piece has Advocatus Diaboli initials on their butt. It felt good they had asked me to do it. I really wasn’t sure I could as I had never made anything like what he had asked. But so far they are turning out good. Once finished, I think we will be adding them and selling for Advocatus Diaboli on our Tiktok store (once I finish setting it up).
HAPPY 20th Birthday Anne Calhoun , though you are now old and past your teenage years..You will always (Unless we adopt, or get another furry kid) be Brent Colquhoun and my little girl..
