Overcoming Service Limitations in Desert Living
Living in the desert offers unparalleled tranquility and natural beauty, but it also presents unique challenges, particularly when it comes to accessing essential services like trash pickup and package deliveries. Despite our best efforts to arrange for these services, we often face obstacles that make it difficult to meet our needs.
One major hurdle is the reluctance of mail and package delivery services like FedEx and UPS to venture into remote desert areas. This reluctance leaves us with limited options for receiving important deliveries, forcing us to find alternative solutions. While we’ve managed to navigate around this issue to some extent, there are still times when receiving deliveries becomes nearly impossible.
Our attempts to use local UPS stores, such as the one in Los Lunas, have been met with disappointment and frustration. In addition to exorbitant fees for pickup services, we’ve experienced disrespectful and unprofessional treatment from store employees and managers. This mistreatment only compounds the challenges we face in accessing essential services.
Despite these setbacks, we remain resilient and determined to find solutions that allow us to overcome the limitations of desert living. Whether it’s exploring alternative delivery options or advocating for improved services in our area, we’re committed to ensuring that our community has access to the resources it needs to thrive.
