**Gearing Up for the New Mexico Nomad Gathering: Desert Grooming Challenges and Progress**
As the New Mexico Nomad Gathering in the Desert approaches, our team at Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center has been hard at work preparing the grounds. Yesterday, we spent six hours mowing in anticipation of this exciting event. Despite facing a few challenges, such as a malfunctioning self-propeller on the push mower, we successfully completed half of our mowing goal.
**Challenges of Desert Grooming**
Mowing in the desert presents unique challenges. The wind-sculpted landscape often leaves behind clumps of grass surrounded by small sand dunes, making it difficult for mowers to navigate. Without the self-propeller, Anne and Mel had to push the mower manually, a physically demanding task given the rugged terrain.
**Taking a Well-Deserved Rest**
Today, we’re taking a break to rest our sore muscles and recharge. Mowing in the desert is physically demanding, and it’s essential to take care of ourselves as we prepare for upcoming events like the Thursday night live rehearsal with Advocatus Diaboli and Shamshini on Clapper.
