First Night in the Studio: Moving Into Our Temporary Off-Grid Home After Storm Damage

Transitioning to the Music Studio: Setting Up a Temporary Off-Grid Home on the New Mexico Mesa

First night in the studio, our new home, until we find a replacement for our totaled RV!Staring out at this incredible high-desert mesa sunrise framing Ladrone Peak this morning after a very emotional couple of weeks. A brutal 15-minute storm of 3-inch hail officially put an end to our Beast, our beloved mobile home of the last 6 years that traveled us around to many states and music festivals. We talked about buying it back and doing the repairs ourselves, but I just don’t feel comfortable doing it, and Brent needs to keep working hard on his recovery from his strokes. Our health and healing have to come first.

Overcoming the Physical and Emotional Packing Hurdles of an RV Total Loss

This has been an incredibly emotional transition process—keeping the tarp secured on the damaged RV roof, packing up every single cupboard into heavy-duty storage totes, and dealing with the constant visual clutter. I know that when the commercial tow truck finally comes down our dirt access roads to haul off the Beast, I am going to cry. Probably a lot more than I am right now writing this post. Luckily, the vehicle is fully insured and we will be fine financially, but it isn’t how we imagined this year unfolding. We have been working so hard towards our goal of traveling again, and we had gotten so incredibly close to achieving that milestone.

Discovering a Structural Upgrade: A Comfortable First Night Inside the Studio Walls

But sometimes things happen that force your household onto a better, safer path—and let’s hope this is exactly such a case. With the generous help of some wonderful neighbors, we plan to set up our bed in the back of the music studio until we find a replacement RV to call home. In fact, our very first night sleeping inside the studio was a massive success!

Cully the Desert Dragon vs Xenolith: High-Desert Cosmic Battle Outlaw Rock Video Release

An ancient cosmic malice has officially awakened beneath the wide, dark night skies of the New Mexico West Mesa. Colquhoun Entertainment is thrilled to announce our latest multimedia AI video release tracking the terrifying origin story of Xenolith, the evil desert dragon alien, as he decodes ancient stone runes to construct a prophecy of pure atmospheric conques.

Featuring the Original Heavy Industrial Track “Zero Fringe”

This dark, cinematic sci-fi experience is completely backed by the crushing, heavy industrial rock track “Zero Fringe” written, arranged, and produced by independent vocalist and songwriter Brent Calhoun, aka Advocatus Diaboli.

Original releases include:

  • Setting the Scene
  • A Torture of Inherent Rage
  • Feed Us Breath
  • Zero Fringe. The driving basslines and atmospheric storytelling provide the perfect soundscape for Xenolith’s terrifying rise within our 5-acre off-grid sanctuary.
