Plateau Hame De Colquhoun, also known as Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center, is located on the southern point of the West Mesa, offering breathtaking views of the Rio Grande Valley. Just 42 miles south of Albuquerque and 14 miles from Exit 191 in Belen, New Mexico, our secluded location ensures peace, privacy, and a one-of-a-kind natural backdrop for your event.

With over 11 miles of dirt roads and few neighbors nearby, you can truly escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Whether you’re planning a wedding, festival, reunion, or intimate gathering, Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center provides the perfect setting.

Venue Overview

Off-Grid Venue: All operations, including the PA system and music studio, are powered by solar and on-site energy. We do not rely on traditional electricity or water—water is hauled in.
Property Size: 15 acres of open space, suitable for large gatherings and outdoor activities.
Campsites: 16 groomed campsites (no hookups).
Facilities: Shower (coming soon), compost toilet. Only one toilet is available on site. For larger events requiring additional facilities, renters are responsible for providing and arranging extra porta-potties.
Pets: Pets are welcome but must be leashed at all times. Pets are not allowed near the compost toilet, shower, greenroom, or private residence areas.
Accessibility: Directions are available on our website.

Event Policies

Noise Ordinances: None. Enjoy your event without restrictions.
BYOB & 420 Friendly: Guests may bring alcohol and cannabis for personal use. Sales are not permitted.
Safety: Guests are responsible for their own safety. Please plan accordingly, especially in remote or off-grid areas.

Stage & Music Options

We offer flexible stage setups to fit your event:

Full Stage with Drum Riser: 12×12 ft (144 sq ft), ideal for full bands and DJs.

Old Stage with Cover: Middle bar removable; can be broken into smaller stages.

Small Open Mic / 1–2 Piece Setup: Perfect for intimate performances, comedy, or small events.

Full PA System & Production:

Full PA system, trussing, and stage lighting available

Experienced sound engineer included to ensure top-quality audio and production for your event

Greenroom:

40-inch TV with streaming and Blu-ray
Mini fridge and table
Couch and queen-size hideaway bed with 2″ memory foam topper
Cooking supplies upon request
A private space for performers, equipped with:

Note: Overnight stays in the greenroom are not allowed.

Maximum capacity varies depending on the type of event, especially if camping is involved.
Renters should contact us for a personalized estimate.
If extra porta-potties are needed for larger events, the renter is responsible for arranging and paying for them.

Bands and performers are welcome to host and run their own events at Ka-Hoon Campground and Event Center. This is a DIY-friendly venue where you have the freedom to create your event your way.

Camping available for bands, crew, and event-goers
Camping rate: $12 per campsite (up to 5 people per site)
Bands are responsible for event setup, advertising, and promotion
Bands are responsible for the cost of fuel for any generators used
If additional restrooms are needed, the cost and arrangement of porta-potties is the band’s responsibility
