- Q: How far away are supplies?
- A: We sit in a secluded, remote high-desert sanctuary 42 miles from Albuquerque. The property is located approximately 13 miles from Love’s Truck Stop and 15 miles from the Belen Walmart.
- Q: Is the road accessible for standard cars?
- A: Yes. Our 11 miles of gravel and dirt access roads are completely passable for most standard vehicles, vans, and RVs. However, the terrain is uneven, narrow, and unpaved. Drive slowly and cautiously. Do not rely on standard GPS—use our dedicated Directions Page.
📅 Booking, Rates, & Stay Policies
- Q: What is the nightly rate and how do I book?
- A: Off-grid sites are $12.00 per night. Reservations must be processed directly through our linked Airbnb, Hipcamp, or The Dyrt portals, or arranged in advance via direct text or phone.
- Q: What is your cancellation policy?
- A: No refunds are available within 72 hours of your scheduled check-in window. Same-day bookings are completely non-refundable. Date transfers to future bookings may be permitted upon advanced request.
- Q: Are there any cancellation fees?
- A: No, we do not charge any additional cancellation or penalty fees. Stays cancelled outside of our standard 72-hour window are processed automatically through your booking platform
🚽 On-Site Off-Grid Amenities
- Q: What restroom and shower facilities do you have?
- A: We feature “The Hut,” our clean, eco-friendly community compost toilet. Please note that shower facilities are completely unavailable due to off-grid hauled water restrictions.
- Q: Can I grill on-site?
- A: Yes! A basic charcoal BBQ grill is available for campers to use, but it must be requested in advance as we only have one on-site. Guests must bring their own charcoal and completely clean up the grilling area after use.
- Q: Can I charge my phone?
- A: A solar-powered device charging station is available at our main headquarters upon advanced request .
🎨 The Ka-Hoon Campground Color Code
- Q: How do I know where I am allowed to camp or drive?
- A: Our campground layout uses a simple color code: Yellow for communal areas, Yellow/Orange/Yellow for reservable spaces, Black for private residential and studio areas (off-limits), and Orange for official property boundaries.
🐾 Pets, Horses, & Property Rules
- Q: Are pets and horses welcome?
- A: Yes! We are a proudly pet-friendly and horse-friendly property. Owners must clean up all animal waste immediately. Pets must remain securely leashed outside of your immediate campsite and are strictly restricted from entering The Hut.
- Q: How do we handle trash?
- A: We operate on a strict Pack-It-In, Pack-It-Out wilderness policy. You must take all of your garbage off the mesa with you when you check out.

- Q: What insurance and equipment are event hosts responsible for?
- A: Hosts must provide their own liability insurance, arrange any necessary porta-potties (coordinated personally), and follow pack-it-in, pack-it-out rules

- Q: Am I allowed to take photos or livestream?
- A: Yes, photography and filming of landscapes and your own site are encouraged, but guests must request permission before filming others to respect privacy.
